I am contemplating commissioning a Revology GT500 build and curious if any Revology owners have any feedback on their car and/or experience with the company.

With Revology's recent price increase, their builds are getting somewhat stratospheric for a Mustang build. Plenty of other good automotive choices out there near the $400k price point...particularly if the product isn't as advertised.

I would get something else for the money. Not a restomod or kit car.

From what I see on that site that is a sub 200k car. Way under 200k.
The new Mustangs are great cars. I would get one rather than that car.

    Yep...saw that.

The founder of Revology, Tom Scarpello, does have an accomplished background in marketing.

At a lower price point I would simply buy it & give it a try. Something about a near-$400k build gives me pause. Particularly since they keep raising prices as their production volume increases. I always thought pricing should improve...or at least remain stable...as you gain economies of scale.

Still...the car does have a certain allure to me.

All the good parts and styling of a classic mustang, without the crap build and cheap components. Whats not to like.
As nice or nicer than a 80s aston v8 vantage.
I would prefer an orig style motor, but they seem to have the sound right.

Maybe check out the roadster shop? I believe they not only do frames but full custom, as well.

As to their builds ......they are top quality. As to an investment.......that is the big question.

I own a real 1966 GT-350 (under restoration) and the components on the Mustang are not complex at all. Virtually every part on the car can be sourced today which is truly remarkable for a car that was built 58 years ago. Revology uses Dynacorn bodies to build their Mustangs. From what I can tell they appeal to a very specific clientele who has the money to spend and doesn't care if the car is original.

That is a very limited strike zone with a real question about what the vehicle might be worth in the future.

As to the comment on engines.....there in lies a problem for Revology. They are not a kit car and as such have to meet the emission standards for current cars in many States. So an original 289 or 427 is just problematic.

Again.....they do the best Mustang builds on the planet but I'm a pragmatist when it comes to cars. I would rather source an original Shelby and restore it for the money.

I drove a new build last summer that a local FChatter had commissioned. The car is truly exceptional. Even better…I fit! Unlike most restomods, it feels much like a brand new car. It tracks perfect, and the modern crate engine 710hp V8 performs like you would expect. The interior fit and finish is as good as you might see in a modern BMW or MB. If you are interested, I could try and coordinate an offline conversation with my friend. It might be good to get his direct read as he’s had plenty of seat time by now. He’s a real car guy with multiple Ferrari’s etc. By the way, his Revology GT500 features a manual gearbox so you know he is a proper car guy.

I am assume you have watched some of the YouTube videos? Each one has little nuggets on how they build cars differently. Here’s one that discusses the painted stripes:

In this video, he details the difference in door locking mechanisms that sets his cars apart. It also features sick “ghost stripes”.
