I have been debating for awhile about what car I wanted to buy I was originally going to spend around $100K well my SL55, whatever it fetched, plus $100K I figured if I found an exotic I loved and was able to keep some money then I win on all ends. As luck would have it I was pointed in the direction of a 2006 DB9 Volante for 122K it has 14K miles its silver/tan. I am thinking of driving to San Antonio to see it this weekend, are these cars worth the money? Or are they gonna plummet, I see '03 volantes albeit old body style for around 70K now. We don't really have a dealer here in Houston, the MB dealer here is also an Aston Dealer sort of, when I called to speak to an Aston salesman the only one,he was gone for the weekend yesterday, so I'm stuck and I don't think it will last long at this price.

I haven't found any aston forums so if anyone could tell me about their cost of ownership( service intervals, typical clutch life for f1) This it isn't a deal breaker or anything at all I am just not looking to be surprised, a friend of my parents spent I want to say $15 or $17K he told me for a clutch on his lamborghini and I'm not looking for anything like that. The SL55 is the most exotic thing I owned and the B service was under $500!

This site has lots of information about the models, but... a handful of links to various enthuasist sites where you can look up the information.

Not sure about the depreciation. Standard British car depreciation I suspect, which is... double that of any other car. I love the Astons... but it is a different car... and seems to be more civil yet... gorgeous. Is the car at Barrett?

Although not as active as FChat, there is a forum at www.amoc.org. You'll likely find some DB9 ownership experiences from American owners there.

Best of luck. It's a gorgeous car.

I had one last year that i sold, and although i have no idea about the actualy services I did have mine checked out at the dealer here and with 10000miles on it the clutch was still at 85% so i'm assuming it has a rather good clutch life. The car it self is absolutely beautiful but i found the inside rather tight and the one i sold had some sun damage on the dash which was convered under warranty, TONS of stares and a beautiful exhaust note. Check around the and i'm sure you will hear some interesting comments to base your descision on. The only thing that surprised me was the price i'm surprised they are still bringing that much as up here they tank BIG time.

when i sat in one a few months back, the only problem i had with it was the way the dashboard was curved, when i adjusted the seat to my liking, the dash was still blocking my view out of the front window. i think i would have been able to get used to it if i were driving one daily, but for that short little time i spent with one, i couldn't get used to the way it was.

Wait still bringing too much? All the other '06 I saw were asking closer to 150K, this one seemed like a steal so I thought there was a catch, the MSRP was close to 200K if I remember. All cars depreciate, I almost fainted the other day when I talked to this dealer about trading in my S550, the first car I ever bought brand new last june. Lets just say I never though 9K miles would cost me so much.
