Just wondering if anyone has got a huracan after owning a 458? Want to know opinions on how the change has been?

I test drove one on a track.... felt really numb but very faster acceleration, heavy heavy car bc of all wheel... not as loud as I would like either from a mid engine v10

Hopefully testing one this week...while I just purchased the 458, I am very interested in the Lambo.

I had a quick test drive but want to know what people have found after living with one for a while.

I have one on order, build date of Nov.22, should be here in Dec. Drove one a few laps at Motorsport Ranch last month. Best Lambo I have ever driven, blows away my old Aventador..

You have a great collection of cars and garage.

What did you think of the sound compared to the 458? You getting the sports exhaust fitted too? I have also head about the racing exhaust but dealer tells me it may be too loud

I'm thinking of getting mine for next march but not 100% yet

My Huracan should be here in 3 weeks. I have driven the Huracan on public roads [fast] and it feels fantastic. To ME, it feels better and faster than the 458 but I am definitely keeping my 458 until its successor is delivered. Two very different but excellent cars.

How does the sound compare to 458?

Cabin sound is a bit muted compared to 458 i found also the crackles on the overrun sound a bit synthetic

I drove one on the road two weeks ago and had a "hot lap" at VIR in one with a pro Lambo factory driver during the Tutor series races that was truly mind-blowing (as any lap would be in any super-car in the hands of a great driver).

I just took delivery of a 2015 458 Spider and had a 2012 Italia for a couple years. In short, the Huracan is a terrific car - it has a few faults like any car (the understeer is very real) but its is leaps and bounds better than any previous Lambo I've been around, including the Aventador.

It feels VERY German - and I mean that as a positive in almost every way, though it also means it lacks a tad of the emotion of a 458 - but not much. The sound is very good, but very different than a 458 - the "back gurgle" almost sounds like you a pulling tin cans - but the engine is terrific north of 5000 RPMs in every way. I do think it will be interesting when the new R8 comes out - I suspect they will drive VERY similar.

I do think when the 458M comes out that Lambo is going to get some customers that would have gone to Ferrari but want a N/A - honestly, I would be one of them, I think if my only option in V8 Ferrari new is a Turbo. Hopefully, by the time I'm out of the Spider in 4-5 years, Ferrari will have evolved back to a N/A likely with a version of KERS.

But make no mistake, the Huracan is a terrific car.

I guess Ferrari needs to go for turbocharged engines because of emissions regulations.

I really like the Huracan - it is so extremely fast and the package is a bit more 'complete' (technically, quality, infotainment, drivability) but it has even less storage room than a Gallardo or R8. It is a very tiny car.

I captured some impressions from the Huracan:

The A Pillar looks intrusive...perhaps it is the camera placement.

Judging from the video, I am not a fan of the string of backfires. It is kind of annoying to hear at least from the video.

The interior looks less elegant than the 458. The boxy air inlets are not as interesting design as the 458 inlets. Also I like the 458 carbon fiber interior options.

No shift lights on the steering wheel for the Lamborghini . That's a mistake.

Also I prefer the tach and drivers display console in the 458.

I like the Lamborghini exterior design. But it has a retro look and suffers from borrowing too much from other cars. The front inlets remind me of the 360. The wedge shape looks like the Pantera. Nice overall design but not a unique one. I doubt if you step away from the car and close your eyes you can recall the overall shape.

If you want a folding hardtop., the Lamborghini will get its roof chopped off in two years. That's a bit of a wait. And no word on if it will be soft top or hard. My vote is for a hard folding top.

Even if it he Lamborghini is a bit faster in a straight line, I think on a track where turn in is a factor, the 458 is probably equally fast while being a bit more fun to drive.

But it will be great to see the updates and changes in the next couple of years.

I test drove the Huracan and the interior leaves a lot to be desired. The transmission software seemed unfinished to me and visibility all around terrible as usual with Lambo.

I sold my Gallardo with an intention to buy the Huracan (due delivery in 2 months). I tested it last week for 2 days, but I think its not WAW, its fast but too soft.. no real muscles. I guess their plans was to have a mini aventador but they got confused with the success of 458. I have scuderia and 458 spider.
    ......I miss my Gallardo.

Crazy how differently people can think. I have a 2014 Gallardo and have driven the Huracan a good bit and think the Huracan is miles better, and also somewhat better than my 458.

yes, its faster than the Gallardo, but thats not big difference for daily driving, the sound of Gallardo is much much better than the Huracan .....

We are comparing here the 458 and Huracan .... I think if you have 458, dont replace it with Huracan .... you wont feel the difference ...

Something was either wrong with your car or my car was on steroids [didn't have the race exhaust though]. The Huracan definitely sounded better stock-for-stock over the Gallardo, IMO. Louder, more pops & cracks, etc. with all of the same Gallardo vocals. I am not replacing my 458 with the Huracan, just getting it in addition. Might as well have both of the competitors because they are good at different things.

Not knowing a thing about the Huracan and owning a 458, the video leaves me with the following thoughts.

I enjoy going through tunnels in my 458 but the Hurracan sound is clearly nothing like the 458 or F-1. I would describe it as "tinny".

I don't like the bar separating the passenger and driver seats. Clearly one of my ideocyncracies to like a more "open" cockpit feel.

The gauges are way too "colorful", imo cheapening the presentation and a bit overwhelming .

I have a Corvette Z06 on order, however, always on the look out for something special.

    Best

Bought 458 until spider and 2wd versions come out and we can assess Huracan real world performance, issues, benefits.

    Huracan vs 458

Pros: Price. In Australia it's over $100k chaper than a 458. Fast in a straigh line.

Cons: Poor quality of materials, (dash, rear bumper, steering wheel all cheap plastic) far less entertaining to drive than the Italia, poor steering feel and understeer. Numerous parts lifted straight from Audi.

Overall, I can't imagine anyone who is a real driver changing their 458 for one. Gallardo sure, but the Italia is still so far ahead as an entertaining drive.
