Anyone from Indonesia?

Thanks for the info Shin, most of my clients in indo are driving high end to very high end cars and i wonder how this will affect them, maybe by buying up as much as they can before the tax increase, interesting way to promote spending by the govt.

 

It gets worse, in 2010 there will be progressive road tax for Indonesian who owns more than one car. First car's road tax is 1.5% annually, increasing up to 10% (!). The government is trying to reduce congestion by discouraging people from owning vehicles, which is a foolish policy. They also discourage luxury cars by the new luxury tax.

Road tax at 10% of the car's value annually is just ridiculous.

I am from Indonesia as well, but have been in the states for about 10 years now.
I don't own the Fcar though.
But, I do have a japanese classic Toyota Supra TT... complete mods with HKS twins and puts out about 700whp.
Anyhow, I am excited that we will be going to Indonesia and will stop in Singapore, KL, and Hong Kong for 3 days in each country in coming Dec..

I have a lot of friends in Indonesia and just got back from Jakarta and Bali. I must say it is beautiful.

I am surprised I didnt see half you guys out there.

Best story was me driving past a cop in a v10 R8 at over 120mph and cops not even paying attention.

My friends husband owns a few places out there we went to like Dragonfly, Social House, and few others.

No 599s in Bali i believe. Bali is quite calm regarding supercars. Most of the car scene happened in Jakarta, Surabaya, Bandung, and Semarang.

 

Since 10 years, only car I spotted was in Sanur, a California registered in Jakarta !
