I've got my eye on a car for sale at THE NEW AUTO TOY STORE of Fort Lauderdale.

However, their website says they are open by appointment only, and more often than not, when I call them during business hours, I get a voicemail.

Has anyone heard of this dealership or had experience with them?

I am in Northern California, and visiting them in person is simply not practical for me.

I'd appreciate any feedback or info.

    Thanks,
    Sam in Saratoga

I have been in their showroom. They have a lot of nice cars and the people running the place were very friendly. We had a car crazy teen visiting us, and had lunch on Fort Lauderdale beach. We stopped there on the way home, and they were gracious enough to let the car crazy kid oogle the cars. At the time they had a F40 and a La Ferrari, among others. I wasn't shopping, so can't speak to the quality of their cars or service, but they really had a nice inventory.

    Strange they don't return voicemails. . .

I would not buy a car from them without looking at it. Car descriptions are in the eye of the beholder.

To be clear, the location that The New Auto Toy Store had at 727 North Federal Highway
in Ft. Lauderdale is no longer there.

Over ten years ago, that entire block was sold to make room for a sprawling condo, office
and retail complex. The original Motorcar Gallery moved into 727 in 2006 and remained
there until taking over the former Cars Internationale location a few blocks south and New
Auto Toy Store moved into the 727 location.

That entire block has now been torn down as plans for the new complex now seem to
be moving forward as it is cordoned off and construction crews now occupy the area.

The new-New Auto Toy Store location is said to now be in Pompano Beach, looks like a
warehouse by the images on their website.

Step carefully. Their reputation, even at the height of their success, was questionable
at best which a quick Google search will reveal. I had heard stories such as deals being
made agreeing with customers to a price but when the customer would arrive to pick up their
car, the price had suddenly increased on the contract without the customer being informed.

Have any car checked out by a local professional mechanic, read all the fine print and
    do the due diligence.
