The shop is right outside of Morristown on route 202. They appear to have a steady business of many types of "specialty" cars (old jaguars, ferraris, porsches, rolls, etc). I spoke to the owner- was very helpful with information about purchasing a ferrari/ferrari maintainence. Seems like he knows his stuff, and seems would be less expensive than some of the other places, but I'm only going on talking to the guy. Never seen the shop mentioned here on F-chat (maybe because he doesn't do Ferrari exclusively?) I don't have a Ferrari yet....just doing the homework ;)

His name is Steve Schade and he did the clutch, oil change and some other little stuff on my 328...I did not have any problems and he is a Ferrari Certified Technician as is Bryan Vignale in Short Hills (Bryan is the guy who came to my house to show me how to change my oil...very cool if you ask me...see this thread http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=53626) I would use him again for certain things yet my car is under waranty.

I use new vernon coach for all of my m3s needs. They do good work although they are pricey. they do all the work for High marques (porsche dealer in morristown) and he specializes in euro cars, especially the high end ones. He has many customers with ferraris including a 550 maranello, 355, numerous testarossas, and more.

I saw that 328 there the other day when I was picking up my m3. Small world.

Who's the guy in short hills? what's the name of his shop?

CLassic Coach in Elizabeth: People here either love em or hate em...never an issue of their workmanship yet customer service is suspect at best...it really depends on who your point of contact is there.

Independent is at 46A Chatham Road...by the train station...their # is 973-376-7888. Bryan is a down to earth gentleman.

That is pretty much the impression I have had at CLassic. They seem to take a long time to get the work done. I am happy with the work but did not find the car too clean when I got it back.

Have you been happy with Short Hills I take it?? That is more convenient for me as well.

Rmani- I didn't see a 328 there it was a 355 with 30+K miles on it...he was going to be putting new cats on it. Seems like there's a few shops around here- good to have selection! Steve took a bunch of time to go over some stuff with me and get me more comfortible, so I figured he did excellent work based on his "clients" parked outside and his good customer relations!

I know a bunch of people use Classic Coach- I was trying to see if there was a shop that was closer... again, I'm way early on this homework, but this is how I get comfortible with a large "investment" like a Ferrari :) Thanks for the input!

I was referring to TTG's post that he had his 328 there just a short while ago. Which 355 did you see there's often a green one there and sometimes a red one too. Steve does good work although sometimes he's a little curt with me, but he's one of the more honest mechanics so I kcontinue to go to him.

What kind of cars are usually at classic coach do they specialize only in ferraris or other cars too?

CLassic has a bunch there. 360, TR, 355, 308, Mondial, sometime Lambos and Maser. I have even seen Bentleys. The roads and traffic getting there is no fun. There is just not much in the customer service dept. My next visits willl be in Short Hills.

New Vernon is in a great location- nice drive and flat roads :)

The green 355 was there- I beleive '95...with over 30K miles, guess he's there a lot, especially if you notice the car there!
