I placed my order for an SF90 Stradale in China in about June 2021 and expected it to be delivered at the end of 2022. Here's the interesting thing and I don't know if this only happens in my region or not.
When I placed the order the MSRP in my country is about 738k USD and I have 166k options added on(excluding the sales tax). The MSRP of SF90 Stradale has recently been raised by about 15k USD. My dealer told me that when they deliver my vehicle at the end of this year, I might need to pay the price difference for it. As far as I know, I am not the only one and the same thing happened in other provinces for F8, SF90, and Roma as well.
Well this car already gonna cost me about 1 million USD, 15k isn't much but I just feel uncomfortable paying something like this. I heard someone say that some extra options become standard after 2022. I checked out the configuration in the myferrari app, and nothing extra has been added to my list. Does anyone else in other regions/countries have this problem?

The price is not set until the car is received into the USA, that I am certain of, everything before then is merely 'guidance'. So, yes, price increases that occur prior to the car being received into the USA by the distributor will be used to determine the final sales price.

Not certain of the price policy in different countries but I would believe it to be the same.

Thank you for the information. It has been a long time since the last time I purchased a car here in the US. Don't you guys need to sign the sales contract first before ordering a ferrari?

Yep it takes so long for some of these cars to be delivered you don’t get your final price until the car comes. Only Ferrari!

Depends on the dealer and your status with that dealer. The contract cannot set the price though, USA Dealers are required to sell the car at its full list price, whatever that price is and the dealer does not set that price. The USA distributor (Ferrari North America, FNA) sets the price when the car is received at their port.

This is unfortunately common right now. Haven’t seen it much with cars but very common with boats.

Common with all goods. Even in B2B transactions prices do change after the order has been placed.

The good news is the cars are holding their value beyond MSRP for the time being…..

If the msrp goes up the valuation goes up somewhat.

The msrp ‘usually’ remains the same but Ferrari tends to raise their msrp whenever they deem is necessary. For example, when 812 SF was delivered in late 2017 to 2018 it had a lower msrp and when I received mine a 2019MY the price was up by more than $20K and we’re talking strictly base msrp without options. Then on top you get hit the GG tax. In these cars it’s all relative. Just enjoy them it’s a ‘want’ not a ‘need’.

Same happened to me, the dealer said it's a raise from Ferrari HQ covering all regions. It's definitely not comfortable, but in the end either we cancel the order and recover our deposit or accept it with some proper negotiation.

Same with me. I ordered an SF90 spider, expected to come later this year and will need to pay the price hike. I’m a close friend with a Ferrari dealership owner and yes, it is mandatory to all dealerships. They even had a dealership meeting instructing dealers to never stipulate the difference (punishment for violating that)

For that I heard the story all manufacture resources are used for finishing F8 orders now, to earlier retire F8 model then step into 296, and all other models including 812 or SF90 are delaying.
