Anyone able to find a Wii?

I got mine on Amazon.com not long after thanksgiving

 

I got one last sunday, I just had to wait in line like everyone else.

 

Amazon's showing $722 and up for a new Wii - seems nuts, is anybody paying that? We're still SOL up here in Vancouver.

 

I think that is just for "buy used and new" (i.e. sources other than amazon.com). People can ask whatever they like, apparently.

I got mine from Amazon for $250 + shipping. I dont know what stores you have up in Canada but the trick here is to find out when UPS shipments arrive and go to the store each day and be there before the shipment comes in - let the mgr know youre there and why, and let the mgr of the electronics dept know too (so you dont get cut in line). Then buy one!

I was at Walmart getting an XBOX360 for my brother last week and the mgr told me he had 16 PS3's come in and 10 Wii's come in. He said the Wii's were gone within minutes but the PS3's took a few hours to sell. The trick is to be there early and be there before they arrive.

Or, you could go the eBay route... the Wii's seem to be going for the $500 range, and for folks who have waited 20-something hours in lines with no luck, it may be worth it to pay that just to get it without further ado.

befriend the local EBGames guys and ask them what times shipments arrive.

Ask at Walmart and/or Target then. I suspect those stock in the early AM.

 

i got mine about 2 weeks after launch, through dilligence.

it's crazy that these things are still flying off shelves. PS3s, on the other hand are jsut sitting there.

Agreed, just pick a week and go to Target every morning before they open and wait for the doors to open up. Chances are you'll find one. that's how I got my PS2 back when it launched.

Not able to find one. Been looking for the past few weeks, even taking the local leads on them, still... nada.

 

Got a place here with several. My kid rolled home yesterday with one.

I can ask where it came from, how much and pick up 2 or 3 for you guys.

I got one from Sam's Club during normal business hours months ago. They had quite a few I guess. If you know someone with a Costco, BJ's, Sam's, etc, card, just ask if they can take you there.

yea, the tax, shipping, paypal fees... it doesn't equal out. could wait and get it online someplace and be the same with a controller and/or game, etc.

I'll wait out the demand a bit longer. I don't *need* another distraction. but it is neat.

 

There are Costcos and Sam's Clubs in Austin. Give them a call as they should have them in stock.

 

In the mexican ebay there are some for...the most cheapest in buy it now it´s for sale for $350 bucks

My brother walked right in to a store a month and a half ago and picked one up no problem.

 

My roomate walked into Circuit City the afternoon of the day of release and got one. I have no idea how and all my other friends who lined up for days didn't get one.
