any rubbing?? especially during u-turns?? im putting them on a 19x9 rim hoping they will "spread out" a little so it wont rub with inner fenders since 430s are so high off the ground anyway. thanks!
I'm currently running RE-11 245/35R19 and 285/35R19 on stock wheels (8" and 10") in the Scuderia. I went through 3 sets of R888 on 235/295 and 235/305 on the stock wheels, but prefer the RE-11 for street use. No rubbing, not even at full lock. Indeed my 265 Hoosier on a 9.5" wheel with a 5mm more aggressive offset don't rub either. My 295 Hoosier rub a little at full lock on the 9.5" wheels, but I never use full lock, or more than 3/4 of a steering wheel turn when running around a road course. I ran a 315 front and it rubs a little on the fender lip when entering a turn hot (braking and turning), it also rubs the fender liner, so 315 is too wide on a lowered car. The 315 was on a 20mm lower Scuderia, raising the car won't fix the rubbing, the 315 is too big, but worth trying.
Just be sure you don't exceed 168mph, because the RE-11 are rated for that speed. I'm using them as my street tires, and I intend to use them at the track as practice tires (in U.S. even on combined Nascar tracks with infield courses 168mph is impossible with a street car). If you need a tire with a speed rating to match the Scuderia, use the Sport Cups 245/35R19 and 305/30R19 on the stock wheels (better grip than Pirelli OEM Corsa), the new Pirelli Trofeo, or dedicated track tires (r888,r1,R6, A6, slicks, etc).
Im using 245/35/19 front and 325/25/20 rear with michellin PS2. I had to roll up the front fenders. For everything else not a problem.
stock wheels or aftermarket? with aftermarket wheels offsets are all over the place, and even stock tires could rub on very aggressive offsets.
Lol, you remind me of myself and a friend with regards to calculating offsets and rim/tire widths off the top of your head I do it with BMWs, you do it with 430s. Haha, good to see a hardcore enthusiast at the exotic level!
No pictures. However, be aware that the stock 285 Corsa system is a 11.7" wide tire, and the 305 R888 (what I ran) is a 11.6" wide tire on a 10" wheel. It works properly, and it looks as fat as the stock 285 Corsa tire. For instance, the 305/30R19 Michelin N-Spec Sport Cup is too wide for the Scuderia rear wheels. Don't go by tire sizes on the sidewalls only, go by specs as well.
OK great thats what i was looking for, so up to 11.7 on 10" in the back is fine. do you know the diameter difference range between front and rear that can be safely run: smallest to largest difference in tire diameter bewteen front and rear. stock difference seems to be 1.6"-1.8", can you exceed 1.8" or go lower than 1.6" safely?. Thanks again and sorry to the OP if this is a bit off topic.
I had 235 front in normal 430 wheels. No w I ordered Pirelli Trofeo 285 rear 235 front for the center lock challenge wheels,I havent seen them I will get them next Monday...
Stay within 4% of the stock diameter ratios, and you won't have problems with ABS/CST/CT/E-DIFF etc. There is no restriction on diameter, you can run any diameter as long as the ratio front/rear stays +/-4% from stock. A stock Scuderia rear tire is 5% taller than the front, so you can run any tires where the rear tire is 1% taller than the front up to 9% taller than the front. Use the same 4% tolerance for the standard F430.
