Anybody knows a place to reprogram Mercedes key / EIS somehow locally?

    Ignition switch is failing on my '07 MB GL 450, you can get EIS + Key for like $100 from junkyard, but need to have special tools like VVDI-MB to marry it to a car. Dealer obviously wants $1200+ for it.

    There are guys in NY who can probably do it in 30 min, but is there anyone local with proper MB tools/software/knowledge? I am not trying to steal my own car, just want to make it start on every key turn :)

    Try Armen Lock in Gaithersburg - not far from Competizione. I would be very surprised if he cant help you - has helped me with similar issues with my 575m, volvo and mercedes. Competizione uses him too. You can google him, but I have his business card here - 301-963-8100. Good luck.
