In case anybody chimes in with the tired old "Bizzarini is a Grifo" routine, here's a picture that I posted a long time ago on the old board. A Bizarini is not a Grifo. The Bizzarini was always one of my favorites. The closest that I ever came to finding a Bizzarini was when I talked to a guy about an Intermeccanica Apollo. He bought his car several years earlier from a guy that had some assorted weird cars and parts. One of the things in his scrap pile was part of a fiberglass Bizzarrini body. No chassis anywhere. So close yet so far. There has been one guy who runs an ad in every issue of Hemmings for several years wanting anything Bizzarini related. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Horsefly, I am new in this FerrariChat.com but Bizzarrini is almost all my life. You questioned the difference between a Bizzarrini and a Grifo. Understandable that there are misunderstandings but to for this you have to know some history. In short: After Giotto Bizzarrini left Ferrari he was involved as a consultant in several car companies. To mention some: ATS, ASA, Lamborghini. He was also working for Iso where he did wonderfull things on the Rivolta, Grifo, S4, Fidia and Varedo. In 1964 he created the chassis for the Iso Grifo, a shortened Rivolta one. On this chassis Bertone created the well known luxury Iso Grifo A3/L (=Lusso) body and Bizzarrini, still working for Iso, made the Iso Grifo A3/C (=Corsa) one. After Giotto Bizzarrini left Iso he went on building this A3/C first unther the name "Bizzarrini Grifo" and later "Bizzarrini Strada". Ciao, Jack www.Bizzarrini.tk
Indeed they are, you must have the biggest picture collection of anyone on these boards - an awesome set of images!!
