How do you like the Campy Shamal's? Im running a set of Eurus..I really like the tubeless setup with regards to no flats...
They're nice wheels but I don't use them much. They were given to me a couple of years when I won the national championship. I guess Campy made the gold ones at one point and then stopped making them but had some set aside that they gave to certain athletes and teams. I am sure that they can take abuse but I have Vittoria CX EVO tubulars on them and I essentially only use them for final bike testing as they ride extremely nicely and eliminate a lot of the variables when it comes to final impressions on how a bike rides compared to how it should ride. I was an Edge/Enve athlete for a long time and helped them with their early wheels. They have put some of my race bikes in their displays at Interbike and always made me great wheels that I prefer to use in competition. When I race 6 days, I am one of the only guys using lightweight carbon wheels as the rims they used to make for me could hold up really well on the banking.
I am an Edge/Enve fan also, they are a bit pricey though, but the quality seems to be there..I built up a set of their Twenty9 XC wheels earlier this year....they dont take rocks to well though! Im at Interbike every year so I have probably seen your bike at their display at some time good luck with your racing!
Here's a pic of them up on the banking. I can't remember why I was using a disc that day. I never use discs. I know that it's borrowed, too. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Not the greatest picture, but just got my new Coppi together!!! Mostly just a frame swap, had a Coppi KT2, now a Coppi KC1. Full Carbon- 2.6# frame. Also added Deda CF seatpast and TRP CF brakes. Went for a ride as soon as I got it back- super smooth and handles great!!!! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
No I have been riding on my rollers until it gets a bit warmer so I havent tried it yet they say it is easy to use and clean out
Nice C-50! I looked at and rode a C-59 with the disc brakes, just couldnt justify the price though...
Italian! When I was 16 and starting to road bike the local bike shop had a pink one that I wanted so bad, I use to just go watch it through the window like a puppy. Glad I didn't get it, I fit to like a 60 and 58 better for racing, but this was like a 63-4.
I have 3 dogmas. dogma, fp and fps. all campy. the mag versions of the dogma were very expensive to produce but were all made in Italy. the carbon dogmas are no longer produced in Italy...if that is a concern? the new dogmas are very responsive, very stiff, but all day comfortable. both the mag and carbon dogma versions are both dream bike material
Yes, I have a Dogma 2 myself (see my earlier post in the "Cycling & Mountain Biking" thread). They're made in Taiwan because that's where the carbon fibre manufacturing facilities are concentrated these days. Not a concern for me. I was more curious to see a comparison between the F8 and the older CF Dogmas. It's difficult to test bike frames because they need to be of the proper size and share the same components of the other bikes you compare them with.
I had a Dogma 60.1. I really like the F8. It's lighter, more responsive, more comfortable and aero. I have a 2014 BMC SLR01 that I haven't ridden in two months because I like the F8 so much.
Thanks for the feedback Jon. I've been debating what bikes to seek out next so I'll keep the F8 in mind. I recently tested a Scott Addict SL and found it very light and responsive as well, drab "livery" on it though.
