My records indicate that Joseph Bleaux was not 2004 F1 World Champion. I see he has been online since this was posted. He's a great guy, I'm sure there's a logical explanation. I really hope he can clear up this misunderstanding. Please, say it ain't so, Joe!

Joe Bleaux is a good friend of mine, and you can all go to hell and die. He is a better driver than any of you could ever dream of being...for ever and ever and ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Excuse me for a moment, my bisexual, bunny humping , animatronic Teddy Bear needs new batteries, so the kids are crying . It's so hard to keep them entertained. Bruce, do you sell porn-Teddy batts?)
Anyway Mr. Bleaux is recovering from a horrific water skiing accident he suffered while setting a trans-Bearing Straight speed record (Alaska TO Russia. Which is AGAINST the prevailing winds for all you ******* out there).
Obviously he is in no position to post on FChat right now and defend himself, so he sent me this email instead..........

"Let me make zees clear, I was only driving F1 Ferrari in 2004, not to be meeting zee press or being on zee TV or claiming zee big shiny trophy. Zees was for Shumacher to be accomplishing as he is zee person for popularity.
My job was to put on zee suit and helmet and drive, you should be thinking of how you did not see Schumacher actually get in zee car for racing without the helmet already on in 2004. It was really me in zee suit and helmet."

So there you guys, I will forever proudly parade around behind Mr Bleaux on lapping days. Basking in the exhaust of a proud winner.

In one of the lowest things I've ever seen done in over three years here on FerrariChat, thread contributor darth550 has actually chimed into the Rocky Mountain region with a new thread and posted something completely uncalled for. I've never seen an action indicative of less class.

This is not a playground. Your actions have implications in the real world, and actions here speak just as much about your character. Clearly at 14,000 posts (great post count! very impressive!) you may not be socially adjusted well enough to understand that.

I mention this because discussing this topic and understanding it is one thing, but darth550's actions are in an entirely different league and you should all put that in context.

Let me ask you, darth550, on the whole, do you think your 14,000 posts here on FerrariChat have helped build the community, or have they taken away from it?

    Shame on you.

Real world implications? Like profiting off of an outright lie for (maybe) decades?

Yeah, maybe that was a tad harsh but if you're pissed at yourself for being "Had" don't project your anger toward me.

...and if "Someone" ever finds it within himself to show his own face with an explanation for his "would be" client base, I'll apologize just to make you happy. How's that?

It's even more classless than having the hubris to perpetuate and profit from a maliciously contrived persona and fooling thousands of people. Definitely.

Disclaimer: I'm friends with Darth- we chat on the phone, hang out occasionally and basically see eye-to-eye on more than a few topics.

    That being said--

He's never tried to profit off his 'status' here. He's never asked anyone to spend money on something that he has developed and has always been able to separate the wheat from the chaff be it Gentry or WYO550. I don't care if he's got 45k posts or 1, it's still the same motive- integrity.

Roland has not chimed in on this thread to defend himself, he's organizing an event based off his questionable status as a race car driver and YOU decide to go after Darth instead of taking a hard look at the facts.

Character? As far as most users on this board (who have met him) are concerned, he's got more of it in his little toe than Roland does with a whole resume of assumed 'facts'. Have fun hanging out (and learning from) a fraud.

Well, as a result of your post I ventured off to the Rocky Mountain region and had a read of (what I think is) the offending thread. You don't think you're WAY overreacting? If you consider that 'one of the lowest things I've ever seen done in over three years here on FerrariChat', then I suggest your 'low acts meter' is in urgent need of service and recalibration.

Perhaps allowing the world to think you're a two times Le Mans winner without once correcting the misconception, and perhaps, allegedly profiting as a result of that misconception, should more appropriately raise your ire.

I know Darth, we're friends. He tells it like it is, some people find this uncomfortable. He's not representing anything, not selling anything. His character is real and not made up.

I've met Roland a few times, even shared a few cocktails with the man. He's always been gracious and generous to me. This doesn't change the fact that if all of these things are true, and I don't know how he could not know that his brand was portrayed as a Le Mans winner. I am very disappointed. I hope that at some point we'll all hear the other side of the story. Maybe you know it?

As far as this not being a playground, then what is it? This is most definitely a playground for me, a place to talk about cars, rib your buddies, and talk about a lot of other things as well. Some people choose to promote themselves here, if you're going to go that route then promote yourself honestly. Real world is that people have spent money to hang out with someone who's represented himself as something he's not. Real world is that things like that tend to piss people off.

Sorry your corner of the world is a little off kilter right now.

I've kept my mouth shut through this whole RL thing, though I've been reading the thread for five weeks now and also corresponded with a few of you through email. I was pretty certain long ago that the facts which have been revealed here were genuine and true. But I had no proof. The proof it appears is now out.

I've met Darth and he's a great guy and an asset to Ferrarichat. Mike you need to get a grip. RL has logged into Ferrarichat at least two dozen times during the course of this thread. If's he so busy why does he have time to log in and not post anything???????

He profited from inaccurate statements attributed to him and made TV commericals representing him as a Professional race car driver and two time LeMans winning race driver.

In addition he alledgedly made the statement about LeMans to people and this could have persuaded people to employ his services.

This is no different than me lying on a resume saying I have a finance degree from Wharton, when the closest thing to the truth is that I once bought a copy of BusinessWeek in their book store while visiting the campus.

RL has had more than enough time to defend himself. His complete slience on this issue is all the proof we need.

Maybe where you're from this is no big deal. Where I am from it's called FRAUD !!

    Hey.

Let's not get carried away here.....

Darth's not all THAT great a guy.

He can't even tell me who did the Chunky Candy Bar commercials in the 70's.

Other than that, he's sort of ok.

And the whole RL thing is getting blown way out of proportion. I know Mother's has adjusted their advertising, and it seems that the whole thing is just an example of the worst possible case of "Whisper down the lane."

What may have started as, "I've been there", became, "I won there, twice." It could happen to any of us, really.

Alright guys. Your actions were entirely anticipated--everybody's looking for their response angle, some even making them elegantly. That's fine.

I knew when I posted that darth550 was a popular character. No doubt he can amass friends like he can past f-cars, and that those friends would chime in on his behalf.

The truth is, I'm sure in the real world that Darth probably has a few good things going for him, and I understand the attribute of "calling it like you see it," and I can even understand you guys defending that in him. That's fine. Truth be told, I know the type all to well; people who excuse their uncouth actions by hiding behind "well I call it like I see it." I know the type; they tend to be minor players in the grand scheme of things. There's an appropriate, elegant way to make a point and the "umpire" method is not that. I won't have people like this as my close friends, and I certainly won't have them working for me.

My world isn't "off kilter" right now. My "low stuff" meter doesn't need calibration. I saw a thoughtless, unnecessary action and I gave some pushback. I'm sure you guys are all aware of the concept. The issue and assicated insights were nicely contained in this thread. The Rocky Mountain region subforum is really more of an area where guys who see eachother on a daily basis have their own little area separate from the pure noise that comprises the majority of F-chat (and this thread reads pretty much like any BS Other-OT thread).

And look at the thread you started, darth, in the Rocky Montain forum! One of the worst threads of all time with you clowns chiming in making jokes in an absurd context about steakhouses of all thigs. In a regional area thread.

I understand you're mad about Roland. I understand the situation and what it entails. I think about it from time to time, but one thing is getting overlooked here is that many people actally CLOSE to Roland, who knew him in person (away from Ferrarichat, people!) really had no idea of the specifics of the racing, and didn't care.

This is a new thing I'm saying, fresh "evidence" in your crucifixion: the majority of Roland's true friends (a) had no idea about any racing claims; (b) were friends with him based on his in-person actions and character, not any built-up persona; and (c) are utterly unaffected by this whole situation.

So obviously that's not your going to change your stance, you're upset etc. etc. Ha! What, you're pissed off that the "value" for your $25/yr isn't as high as it would be because of this? I think you should be more concerned about impacting EVERYONE ELSE's F-chat "dollar-value" with your ridiculous threads and random positings.

That's only 1/5 a joke. But that aside, I do understand why you guys are upset, but we're grownups here and you can debate, accuse, influence, and change your beliefs in an adult manner instead of positing little bits of post diarrhea where it doesn't belong.

Kudos to you, Darth, for building up friends that will defend you here. Kudos to others who saw that I'm trying to make a valid point, and maybe feel that darth550's actions were a bit out of line with that post in question, and who subsequently resisted the urge to flame me like a child. That's all fine, but please make sure you maintain some perspective in this situation.

I know the "truth hurts," but that really was a classless action, Darth. Please feel free to speak your mind and make your points appropriately. The ones where it seems you actually can write, I'll read them. But going off and posting like you did, where you did, is not acceptable behavior.

I hope there's a part of this that resonates with some of you, maybe a twinge of "yeah, that was kind of an a-ss thing to do, Darth."

    Your F-chat colleague,

    --Mike
