Just love to see and hear about what others have on their sound system at home?
I try. Like vinyl. Technics SL1200 with Grado gold cartridge. Parasound phono stage. Denon reciever. Carver amp. Aerial Acoustics Model 6 main speakers. Paradigm Sub. Etc... Honestly don't listen as much with the car in the garage. But winter is coming.
Hi all, I have a Jeff Rowland Concentra 2 driving a pair of Revel Performa M20 using Harmonic Technology Fantasy speaker cables. Spectacular to say the least this combination. Also, Krell Kav-400xi integrated amp driving a pair of Paradigm monitors using JPS Super- conductor 2 bi-wire cables. All of this protected and enhanced by Richard Gray's Power Company gear.
Hi Mike, what speakers do you use with the McIntosh gear? Do you have a stereo setup or surround system? What speaker cables do you have with your gear? Thank you
Hi Rob, are you using the Denon as a pre with the Carver? Is your Aerial speaker difficult to drive? I once heard an Aerial 10T driven by Sonic Frontiers tube amplification and it was amazing to say the least!! Cheers
At home, I have a crap system setup right now - don't even know what it consists of. At the shop? I'm running a Sony SCD-777es super audio cd player into my VTL Ultimate preamp which drives a pair of VTL Deluxe 120 amps powering a set of Gallo Nucleus Reference 3 speakers. Left speaker and amp shown below - pardon the dust! p.s.: The Nordost Flatline 2 biwire speaker cable is hidden in the picture, but connects from amp to speaker towards the wall. The LONG interconnect cable can be seen snaking up into the acoustic tile ceiling & then heads over to the front end of the system. Image Unavailable, Please Login
At least after she gives birth you'll have a couple extra bookshelves. (-:Sorry couldn't resist. I'm sure it sounds great:>)
McIntosh C32 Pre-amp, McIntosh 2205 amp, McIntosh MR 78 FM Tuner, Sony XA777ES Super Audio CD, Thorens table, Ortofon cartridge, going to McIntosh ML2s and 1Cs speakers.
Great thread idea! here's my 2 channel - Avantgarde Trios w/ Cary 1610's - building a new room next year for this system Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looking to upgrade amps, processor, etc. in this room - currently Crestron Adagio.. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hello Rodolfo, Yes I am using the Denon as a preamp as I also have a surround sound set up. Using a Carver 1.0t to drive the Aerials. I believe they are difficult to drive. The amp has around 400 watts/channel. Would love to get a set of tube amps but they would cost many $'s which I do not have since I blew my wad on my little red sports car.
I totally agree! The Aerials are neutral and always blow people away when they will sit and listen in the sweet spot. Sessions always end up blowing through many LP's and many brews! Nice thing about the Aerials is that they don't tire you out.
Make sure the room can accommodate the BASSHORN in case you want to upgrade later. I am a minor audiophile - Harbeth speakers with Accuphase amplification. To the TS - Mike there is a guy in Manila who owns one of the baddest McIntosh system in the planet. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=1802274&stc=1&d=1384410425 Image Unavailable, Please Login

Gallo Reference are one of my favorite speakers. I used to buy, try and sell lower high-end components all the time. Realized one day that I was wasting a lot of time, energy and money on setups I barely used and quit with the obsession - which meant more cash left over for cars so I'm not regretting. I get satisfied enough with the quality (1000 $+) compact "all in one" systems out there, and because I live in an apartment that's the best compromise. But it's always fun to read about other enthusiasts' setups!
Sure know how that is! Though I have bought almost all of my audio gear used at a very nice price, at one time or another, I had (for speakers): Fanfare Acoustics Tempo II, Apogee Stage, Magnepan SMG, Soundlab Pristine, B&W Nautilus 805, B&W Matrix 805, Dali 8, Genesis 400, Gallo Nuc Ref 3, and Klipsch KG5.5. Have sold off the Fanfares, Apogees, Magnepan, B&W Nautilus, Klipsch, and the Genesis - but everything else is still either in use, or taking up a LOT of closet space.
