What is the current direction for Aston Martin?

when do they plan to update the interiors of their cars to get away from the Mercedes 2 gen old tech and give buyers a better more unique product for the price?

seems like their db11 and latest vantage are coming up short in all areas. Not sure how they are keeping the lights on or paying for F1.

do you see them staying afloat? What will get them going again?

Well lets go down the line.
    Jaguar is dead.
Aston Not far behind sadly......They all took the bait with electric and are ALL dying with electric.
Terrible quality and old over drawn panels are not Aston Martin.
Follow Ferrari or Porsche, if you would like to buy something.
    Thats about it.

Sadly, I agree. Only hybrids after 720. I don’t believe there are more enthusiast buyers that want more electric anything- panels, hybrid/drivetrain vs those that do not want all that electric stuff. I clearly don’t know much, because all these companies are hurtling in that direction. I guess it is I and one other dude that wants an analog, manual, NA motor with leather…

I put a deposit on the outgoing 720 LCI, because I don’t want what is coming.

I’ve owned vintage and modern Aston’s over the years. A big fan while in the states & overseas enjoying many AMOC events.

Since AML gone public, it has lost more than a little. The stock prices is down over 80% last 12 months.

Getting parts for those even under warranty can be a challenge with months of delay.

One rumor, the Saudis may bail them out. Maybe Mercedes will buy portion of the business. Who knows, it’s been a brand with several lives over the decades.

Due to carbon emission, the sale of thermal engines will be banned in Europe from 2035.
This has already been voted by the European Parliament.
Most European constructors are changing their production to observe that legislation, including Porsche and Ferrari.
The rest of the world is following, including Japan and China.
The only exemption will be for constructors who build less than 1000 cars a year.

    bought a CPO AMG GT
    same motor as AM!

The frustration is that as an enthusiast, AM does almost everything I want: beautiful GTs, crazy LE cars with manuals like Victor, supercars like the Valhalla and Valkyrie, until recently they had that '21 manual Vantage (which I still look at and think could become collectible)... and yet when push comes to shove, I come back to spending my own money on Ferrari instead. DB12 looks phenomenal inside and out.

I drove several DBX and enjoyed them, but was smitten with the W12 Bentayga instead.

I get why Stroll bought in though, and really pray he can keep it going. IMO they need a lighter weight, entry Vantage closer to the $125k range again. Also, sharper steering and throttle. Driving my Alfa QV at the time, with its divine, sharp steering and same power output, the Alfa felt a lot more nimble on its feet than the Vantage, and was barely over 1/3 the price.

Sounds weird to say but I wish the Vantage was more like the Emira in execution, with AM luxury.

Rumors are V12 front engine Vanquish III in a couple of years.Sure would be nice if they ditched the turbos.

Also electrification will not be all or none, but rather optional in upcoming models.

I like technology, I LIKED the electric concept AS A NOVELTY.
Its DYING as we speak........The UK is now pushing the ban back 50 years....
Did ANYONE ever see what they do to extract the materials for the batteries.....?
    Its MODERN BLACK SLAVERY!
Look at the Congo pictures, kids come out GREEN from these pits!
Im out and I loved it as a novelty.
This is what happens when ALL political IDIOTS around the world , that have never had a REAL JOB or had to understand the people.
WE RUN ON TRUCKS, GASOLINE AND AIRPLANES.....
Every cost exploded when an 80 year old dead man started the war of fuel and pipe lines.....
Fact: 3 years ago gas was 1;69 in the states regular. Interest rates were 2 percent, The market grew 45 percent in 4 years and every person lived in THEIR OWN COUNTRY.
Long live 3 years ago, business MEN not college bafoons that never ran a business....
    Going back to bed.
    Aston is dead.
    Jaguar is really dead.
The battery car is dead........CONGO PICTURES SOMEONE.......

From what observed in London and Manchester last month, the UK and most of Europe is more advanced with EV, than the US.

That said, renting a car in Manchester, they basically only wanted to rent me an EV. Told them not easy to get charged in Chichester. They disagreed. Did eventually get a hybrid.

How this relates to AML. If read their recent first half results, they are challenged in the future, imo. AML projecting the DB12 will be bit of savior, as the DBX has been.

You will never buy an electric car if you see how they get the minerals for the batteries.
Some one can post the kids in pits with ropes around them.
Secondly Mercedes and the rest are puppets to the government, give me free checks and I will build electric, In the states the electrics are all over lots unsold.
I like it as a novelty but the future for electric in hundreds of years away.
The plant base fuel is here but thats all politics too, zero emmissions.........
    Just my 2 cents.
Ferrari forever.........I think their battery program goes into effect in 75 years :)
