Graham, top job mate, I can't stand bull-$hitter$. P.S. I was chatting to Nick Mason about all this morning and about me buying his 250 GTO, after he let me have a spin in his Enzo..... What??? Honest....
the only thing that is not a figment of my imagination is the FOC being friendly and value for money i bet seb is high up in the FOC
What we must all remember, is this is basically, an internet chat room (the slight difference is that the bulk of the participating members know one another quite well). One must always be on ones' guard, and never divulge too much information. We can never write-off steve275/seb king reappearring, can we ? How many "others" are out there ? Fine work Graham, thank you, oh great protector. Cheers, Lord Lucan
(This image and humor may be lost on some of you across the pond unless they show Saturday Night Live over there.) Tommy Flanagan here... I saved the lives of thousands... Yeah right after I made love to my wife... Morgan Fairchild... Yeah, thats the ticket... Yeah, and then we drove away in my Ford Esc... I mean Ferrari... Yeah, thats the ticket... Yeah. oh yes, sorry, that was last week, your right Nick. It was JK I was with today, and its the Muira I'm considering. Much prefer my red Enzo to his black one though.
Well done guys.......This guy Seb just reminded me of a guy that used to work for us.....a compulsive liar.....told us he was navy seals and all sorts.....apparently compulsive lying is a sickness.....hhmmmmm....so I was told...........
Steve are you really really sure you want me to explain.......... If you are A) drunk enough or B) bored Shtless I'll tell you
Question for you CCIEs out there The following IPs map also map to one other user. What are the chances of somebody unconnected to Steve275 or Boxer 512 being allocated these IPs? 217.43.245.12 217.44.66.95 217.44.66.90 217.43.245.12 217.43.157.191 217.44.66.54
The addresses are dynamically allocated to a set of users. Different companies work in different ways, some it's by random, some it's by catchment area or region I am with NTL who allocate on area, so other users may have from time to time may have the same IP as me. Things like DHCP expiry time come into play (3 day default). But what are the chances of somebody having one of my old IPs from Blackheath visiting ferrarichat.com. Couple that with similar behaviour? nah, it's the same person. I'd say that if you match more than 2 ip addresses in that range it's the same person. Not a CCIE, they may have a different view on the above - but i am a SCSA and a RHCE
That is exactly what I thought........... yeah, I'm not C&A they have a different outlook to D&G but I am C of E... WTF????
Graham, As I mentioned in my e-mail yesterday, as the address's are dynamic with most of the big household name ISP's there is no definitive way of identifying one person without logging the Mac address of the connecting device(router or modem) However what we do know from the IP Address's is that all the IP's seem to route through to a common point (one of the router's in the local exchange) which would indicate the post's come from people who live within 2-3 miles of each other or in London within .5 mile and for the people who arent techies a simple explanation Each computer connecting to the internet is given a uniqe number or IP address(eg 192.168.0.1) All the other devices on the internet also have a unique number (the boxes in the exchange, web servers etc) Your computer and these devices use this number to find and talk to each other, in the majority of cases an IP Address is given to you every time you connect to the internet, your service provider has a big pool of these numbers and gives out the first available number, which is why your address is dynamic In the same way that the police can trace a phone call by identifying first which area its in and then which exchange and then which line etc we can find out which computer somebody is using to log onto Ferrarichat.com (and for the real smart arses what there actual address is but thats not strictly legal ) you can perform a simple trace on an IP address by 1. press start 2. type in cmd and click on ok (black DOS window will pop up) 3. type in tracert www.ferrarichat.com 4. let it go until you see TRACE COMPLETE this will show you the route your computer takes through the internet to connect to Rob's web server
Thanks Andrew I'm fully satisified now that there are no other aliases for Steve275/Boxer 512 posting under any of their known IP addresses. I've checked through all the posts for the other person that shared these IPs and I'm pleased to say that he's fully legit. And I'm not telling you who it was before anybody asks
My investigations have also revealed that users AlexR and Kamal both post from the same PC and are aliases for each other Assuming multiple identities is not allowed, therefore they have both been excluded permanently
