I'm 6'1" but fat so add another couple inches under my arse and I cant get comfortable in my 360. i sit way too high and have to hunch over while I drive. I have moved the seat forward and angled the seat back (Daytona) and that doesnt really help. As has been said in multiple threads (I did use the search function) I dont like the feeling of sitting ON the seat, I want to sit IN the seat. I need to switch out the seat. What are my options ? Racing Seats in large are impossible to find and when you do they are way too frickin expensive. What are the good aftermarket seats ? i dont care about power adjustments as once I get them positioned comfortably I wouldnt need to change it again. I want to be as low as possible.
Lots of after market options. Do you need adjustable seats, front/back? If not a side mount will sit the seat right down on the floor. I went with the 458 CF Sport Seats. They are FANTASTIC and so comfortable. BUT, if you think 360 sport seats are expensive these would be right out.
Look into Sparco seats. You can purchase them for about 650 each and have them covered with the material to match your current seats and be done with the whole deal for just about 3k. Keep you original seats. Or better yet, you can make a nice set of office chairs out of them. A guy did it to his BMW seats. How to turn your BMW seats into office chairs
If I were changing seats, (I would like to) I would go with Sparcos. As vr said the factory option sports seats are Sparco.
I have the factory race seat and there were made by Sparco, as others have said. I'm not sure which Sparco seat it corresponds to but here is a pic. All of the black is actually carbon fiber. They're super nice seats. Going into my manual CS clone. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Sparco doesn't sell an exact match to the Ferrari seat but you can get very close. They aren't cheap though.
I'm not quite sure what you're asking. They're leather and they were ordered directly from Ferrari by an fchatter and I bought them from him when he sold his car. These are the carbon F430 race seats in medium. They bolt right into the 360/F430. They weigh about 19 pounds each complete with the floor mounts. Last time I looked, they're about $14k each, so $28k for both, from a Ferrari dealer. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yikes !!!!! Sparco Milano seats (start at) list, for under $2,000 each !! I almost installed them in my Mondial T, but didn't only because I had my stock seats redone in the Daytona pattern. Anunakki, there's a racing shop in Burbank that sells them (and will install as well). Can get you the contact info if you like. Cheers, Hank
I hear you on that but remember that milanos are heavy fiberglass and these are 100% true carbon fiber. Not that that makes it worth the ask from Ferrari but it's worth noting. Plus the shape is a fair bit different.
I think your best bet is to got to a race supply shop that sells and displays a lot of different seats that you can see, touch, and most importantly - sit in!
As was stated in several posts in this thread, Sparco is who makes them for Ferrari but they don't correspond to any seat in the Sparco lineup. If you want these particular seats, you have to order them from Ferrari.
Why do you think that? Some ferrari challenge seats are OMP, some are Sabelt. It depends on many factors. However, neither makes the OEM street seats. There are a few suppliers that do, however. Sparco makes carbon fiber parts for many manufacturers in Italy and make seats as part of that. Incidentally, who do you think makes the carbon tubs for Alfa for the 4c?
I went to Supercar Sunday today and there was a 360 there with OEM Racing Seats. They definitely say much lower than my Daytonas. So I will look further into the Sparco seats as that seems to be the way to go. Thanks !
