To be quite ohnest I think the cars a joke. The horsepower is impressive but not from a engine with 4 turbos and 16 cylinders.

How come a CF chassis car with 4wd weighs 2300kg(!!)* wet, not including driver when a similarly sized 4wd Murcielago weighs around 1700kg? Where dows the extra 600kg comes from, gold bars in the glovebox?

Audi can praise all they want regarding Veyron's acceleration, top speed, etc but when it comes to daily driving, mountain pass etc, 2300kg is just another Maybach, not a sportscar.

Silly engineering if you ask me.

*Read the EVO test drive of Veyron, they said the car do weighs close to 2,300kg with all fluids.

Active aerodynamics, that huge engine and its cooling system, a durable drivetrain, stiff frame, safety measures, etc. Besides, it's hard to get a small car to have a high top speed, and even harder to make a large car have the weight of a small one. It probably had to be a certain size to get to the speed they were aiming for.

It hardly matters, I think. A Maybach will not turn well because it's not set up for sporty driving. A Veyron is. All the tests say that it handles wonderfully.

It is still impressive. Try building that kind of engine to pass emissions and noise regulations, to have low maintenance requirements, be reliable, have a wide torque curve, and good throttle response.
