that is quite a car. i don't like the black wheels as they don't look period correct. i don't hate them either.

so my question...do daytona spyders that have been chopped can reside in vintage but a converted comp car is a recreation? i still don't fully understand this?

i personally don't feel this belongs in the recreation/rebody category.

To be honest I wasn't sure whether to put in vintage or in recreations which I guess highlights the problem with this sub forum.

In in the end I followed the convention set by this thread http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=372805 although I believe this conversion was done in the seventies which makes this a period car?

I remember seeing the car at the Coys Monaco auction in 2008 and IIRC it sold for around £400K then.

There's a pic of it in the sale then (with gold wheels which suit it better IMO) in the thread below.

I also prefer the gold wheels. Hard to assess the value of these. Some are for sale at around $350k and some around $700k..all being conversions.

What a beautiful car this is. I don't care if it's a recreation/rebody or not, it's the ultimate Daytona. I even like the black wheels. Must sound like the devil screaming.

It's been struggling to find a new home for the last couple of years...hopefully third time lucky for this superbly maintained conversion...
