Way too much speculation and conjecture surrounding this kid. I will wait to pass judgement and wish him well. From my perspective the kid exudes the vibes of a winner. I had the same feelings about Piastri and he turned out pretty well. I think his off in FP1 was unfortunate and will just be a little footnote in what could very well be a successful F1 career.

 

it seems like F1/Liberty Media/Mercedes is trying to find the next face of F1 by forcing it upon us. They built Hamilton into the glory boy and protected that cash cow as much as they good. They have decided Max will forever be the villain and thus he will never have the popularity as other big names have had. Not to mention he doesn't fake loving any and every fan.

With Kimi they have hyped the hell out of him before he even jumped in an F1 car. Mercedes obviously was onboard and likely helped push that narrative and knew they were putting him in the second seat long long ago. The big bang shocker was to announce Kimi as the 2025 mercedes driver at the Italian GP, after letting him look like a hero kid in his F1 debut. Mercedes even told him "Strat 2" which is their quali mode on fresh soft tires. They were attempting to BS the fans by having him set a stunning lap. Instead Kimi absolutely failed and binned the car. So Toto had to resort to words to keep the hype up.

It's all smoke and mirrors at this point if you ask me.

Child to do a man's job- I get promoting young "talent" but there are a multitude of qualified and proven F1 drivers out there- why wet-nurse some teenager- it's not a cheap sport to tit-suck some kid into

The same could have been said about Max and history has proven that hid did quite well. Special drivers can make it and it is impossible to know if a kid is truly special until they are actually in F1 and encounter the specific pressures it presents.

 

Max was picked because of talent.

Stroll bought his way into F1 by his dad.

You either get into F1 by talent or by sponsorship or both. Stroll was neither.

 

Correction: Lance Stroll got into F1 by familial sponsorship having met all the FIA requirements to obtain a Superlicence.

 

Well yes, he met the prerequisites or criteria or paperwork to get into F1 buuuut he wasn't CHOSEN to get into F1.

Stroll was FORCED into F1 by his father.

And the fact that Williams needed the $80 million USD that Lawrence Stroll put up for his son because they were already hurting for money due to a lack of big sponsor(s) was even more of a "welcoming mat" for the the Strolls.

 

As usual, you are nit picking. You have absolutely no proof that Lance was coerced to race in F1. None at all.
It's simply your imagination running riot because you don't like the idea of a rich father helping his son to F1.

"Sure son, no problem!" "I'll take care of it!"

In life, there are too many 'forceful, helicopter' parents, that 'know' better. Look at The Williams sisters
Thus as a child you are forced / coerced, end up a dysfunctional mess, with only yourself to blame. Or become a winner (few).

If you all want to know the truth, ask Lawrence and Lance. If you know them well enough you might get a reply.

I'm not quite sure how you managed to make a connection between my comment and Stroll seeing as I made no mention of him and this is a Kimi Antonelli thread.

 

The guy mentions Stroll on every thread, and on most of his posts: a real obsession.
