Hi Mark & Debra, greetings from North Africa to the south of Africa. Enjoy your time and vacation. Yours Wolfarossa & Anja Greetings from Egypt
Hi All, It's 33 degrees C in Pretoria today, and hotter out at my flying school in Brits. Phew!! @Rodolfo I bought a new camera the day I flew to South Africa. It's a Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-V1 (5.0 mega-pixels & 4x optical zoom) with a 1.0 gigabyte Memory Stick. I am still learning to use it and am personally not very happy about the composition and exposure of some of the pics above - I merely posted them for the record! Nevertheless, a great camera with excellent features (including full manual, aperture priority and shutter priority) @Bart I have owned my Alfa since the beginning of 1986 (it's a 1980 model) and it must now be one of the most perfect '80 Spiders in the world. It's engine is just so smooth and, yes, it's a pleasure to drive. Over the weekend I realised just how good my F-car is in the handling department - you just cannot compare the two cars! Interesting fact: Cars from South Africa are currently in demand all over the world right now...especially early model Italian vehicles. This is because of the dry conditions in the interior of the country and the absence of rust. South African cars that have spent their lives away from the coast are usually totally rust-free and this makes them attractive to collectors. The country has produced right-hand drive Alfa Romeos, BMW's, Merceded Benz, Nissan's, Toyota's, Volkswagens etc. etc. since the 1960's so there's a lot of interesting old vehicles available at reasonable prices. @Wax Oh yeah! Isn't the internet amazing? Wolfgang's in Egypt and I'm in South Africa and we're both able to keep in touch. Cheers, MARK
Hi Wolfenkahmun! Greetings from the land of the Zulu to the land of the Nubians!! I hope you are enjoying the blazing sun as much as I am down south! Have you done any scuba diving (assuming that you are a diver, of course)? That's still an Egyptian trip that I need to make. Enjoy yourself, and don't drink too much of that camel-p*ss!! Cheers, MARK
Hi all gents, yes, indeed the intenet is amazing and keep us all intouch around the world. @Mark, sorry no diving. I never ever will do this.....I know it sounds silly beeing at the red sea and no diving, but do be honest I prefer to see all those goodies on my plate;-) I' m in love with all sea food but never want to se it alive swimming between my nuts! About the damn f**** monkey/camel piss. Still after 10 egypt-beers.....nothing happens just need to pi.. Try to check out now what will happen after another 10 beers Report will follow tomorrow Wolfarossa & Anja Greetings from Egypt
Hi, I am very interested in the SN and the owner of the gt4. Just to complete the Dino gt4 register. Thanx Roel
Very nice pictures!! Looks like you have a lot of fun there!! Would love to see South-Africa one day...
Hi Roel, With respect to the Dino GT4 Register, I have forwarded your message to the owners of the vehicle pictured above, and have copied it to you. When will www.dinogt4register.com be ready? Cheers, MARK
Hi ForzaF, Yes, I like South Africa and make a point of visiting at least once a year. I have a house (and toys) in the country and so always have lots of fun when I travel south! Jy moet 'n plan maak om die land to besoek - jy sal jouself definitief geniet! Cheers, MARK
Mark, Wanneer kom je terug uit Zuid Afrika? Doe de groeten aan Debra! I see that you are really enjoying yourself. Keep it up! Ton
Fun-fun-fun!!! And I think it's going to be tough getting back to reality. Oh, FYI, I am also having intensive electro- and physiotherapy on my right knee while I'm here. Remember, I had the ACL replacement operation 18 months ago? I will pass on your greetings to Debs. Cheers, MARK
Aaahhhhh!! Greetings Gentlemen, I am back in Europe, having traveled from South Africa to the UK via Frankfurt and Prague. Today I got my ADSL internet connection and so am FINALLY back online Hey...I'm happy! It's good to be back. Happy Christmas to you all!!! Cheers, MARK
MARK Good to CU back here! Great, you are well back from SA. Called you several times over all 3 cell-phones but couldn`t get in touchwith you......long time ago we have talked since SA/Egypt. Merry X-Mas to you & Debra Anja & Wolfang
Yo Wolf!! Good to see you too!! All my Czech mobile numbers are now out of service, and I will wait till I start work in January to get a UK number. It's really good to be back online and back to the "real world"!! I hope you and the family are having a good day.... Cheers, MARK
Mark, we are going for christmas-dinner to my parents-in-law in 40 miuntes. Yep, everything is just great and I drove today (sunny & dry here in Germany) my testarossa for 1 hour around the block and a bit over the highway Hope to CU soon again on the road Wolfarossa FORZA FERRARI
Hey....here are some shots of a 355 that was parked outside of an excellent restaurant I went to in Pretoria, South Africa. Cheers, MARK Image Unavailable, Please Login
Mark, great pic from a beautiful car. Are there many Ferraris in SA? Egypt & Ferrari sucks so badly. No Ferraris and bad, bad streets outside and in all citys are those dman high bumpers. Wolfarossa FORZA FERRARI
Hi Wolfgang, Yes - there is a strong Ferrari Club in South Africa, although on this trip I did not see too many cars as I spent most of my time out in the country at my flying club. But F-cars are REALLY expensive down there! I agree with you about the Egyptian roads. I don't think that a Ferrari could survive down there. One thing's for sure....although it would get destroyed fairly quickly, it certainly won't rust!! Cold and miserable here today... Cheers, MARK
Mark, have you got your flying-licence???? Sorry, must leave now for dinner. Hope to CU back again tomorrow. I`ll be online the morning and later in the afternoon. We have lunch tomorrow at NINO, Schwetzingen with some other F.-Drivers. we will go there with the testa ans I will shoot some pics. CU & Cheers Wolfarossa FORZA FERRARI
