Great pic! Driving through the rain in 002. And people won't drive their 308's and 360's in the rain.
I have seen two black 512BBi's and one of them was black/black, other one had light interior. Im looking for black on black one
Black on black 512 was recently bought at Monterey Mecum auction and was repainted on Long Island. I think Autosport Designs had something to do with it so contact them
We drove all the way in from rest area on LIE with no problems what so ever. Maybe it was paved Saturday. Regardless it was a nice day, although it was pretty cool driving with the top down. Image Unavailable, Please Login
My photos are up at http://www.flickr.com/photos/photosbyjohnwiley/sets/72157631786520325/ That show is always a lot of fun and it gets some incredible cars! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Me three. By midday the shoppers showed up and thats when the BS started. I had folks try and open my doors & way too many people were rubbing their hands along the finish(what the hell to they think they are going to fell anyway), then the people with shopping bags, OMG! Oh, lets not forget the kid that was rolling his ball ON MY CAR! The event is well run with one exception, if you are going to invite cars to be judged then you need to make sure all of the cars get judged! I'll chalk this show up as been there done that. Here's some pics from the show,

Congratulations to all the Winners! Interesting is that there was not a class award given for Lamborghini. Why bring your Lamborghini for judging if there was no award given. Very disappointing.[/QUOTE] Just like I said in post # 13 This event is FARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR from a concours event.. Its a beauty show at best... People that service their cars at the sponsors shops will Trump anything that any outsider brings to the show.. Small world politics are in play here...if the public thinks a winner was prepared at the sponser , they will go there! Truly the only North east Concours is Greenwich..save your energy and just enjoy the Day!
Its a fun event thats easily made better. Have more of parking area be for display and have off site parking with shuttles. Have real judging. Should be as nice as conn show, one in spring and other fall
Agreed! Showed my car at both events this year. Got a best in class at Greenwich and was never judged at the Americana....nor were many of the other cars around me. It appears that the winners were pre determined. Just throwing my experience out there for anyone that plans on making this event next year. Go enjoy the day, keep an eye on your car and don't sweat getting an award. It doesn't have much merit.
Yes I 100% agree I was waiting all day by my car and it was not judged but when 2 judges came by I asked and they said it was judged earlier. In my mind I was thinking "When the Hell did that happen?" the 10 minutes when I ran to the bathroom. Then to see the list and see there was no Lamborghini category, that was disappointing. I will try to make the Bella Machina next year in the Poconos
This is a fun event and is by no means a concours and no one wants it too be. The Greenwich Concours even has non concours cars.
If that is the case, someone needs to notify the organizers of this event because they think they are running a full blown concours!! When participants get an email notification like this, you expect that you are attending concours.. Dear Concours Registrant, Thank you for your participation and enthusiasm in the 8th Annual Americana Manhasset Concours DElegance to take place on Sunday, October 14. This year we have over 200 applications to participate in the judging portion of the event. Our Chief of Judges, Howard Krimko, has reviewed all requests and your car will be judged for an award, and will be parked by brand with all participating cars on the North side of the shopping center. Please respond to this email with a day-of contact phone number so we can notify you if your car has won an award, and make arrangements for your car to participate in the drive by at the end of the event. It is important that your phone remain on during the event. We ask that you arrive for event registration at 8am. Registration is on the south side of the shopping center in front of Brooks Brothers. We suggest you use the Searingtown Road entrance for registration, as the Northern Boulevard entrance will be closed. If you are trailering your car to the event, we ask that you arrive between 6am and 7am in order to unload your vehicle from the trailer safely. Trailers are to park in the Macy's parking lot in the designated parking area. Please enter the Macy's parking lot from Northern Blvd. No trailers will be permitted on-site at Americana Manhasset after 8am. If you have contracted out to a trucking company to transport your car, please provide us with the name of the company and the driver's cell phone number. All Concours participants and a guest are invited to attend the Concours breakfast hosted by Ralph Lauren from 8:30am until 11am. Your VIP badges will be included in the registration package you will receive the morning of the event. The VIP Lounge will open at 11am. Due to space constraints and fire marshal regulations, access to the VIP lounge is divided into groups as follows: 11:30AM to 12:30PM and 12:45PM to 1:45PM. Your group will be indicated on your VIP badge. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. The event day schedule is as follows: 8am to 9:30am Vehicle Registration 9am to 9:15am Judges Breakfast 8:30am to 11am Ralph Lauren Breakfast 11:30am-1:45pm VIP Lounge Open (located on north side beside Toku) 9:30am to 1pm Judging of cars 2pm Awards Presentation We look forward to seeing you on Sunday, October 14. Once again, thank you for your participation in this years event.
Agreed. This is a great season ending car display/gathering, and the organizers really do a first rate job of it. If someone is looking for a concours or to have their car judged, they should join their respective marque car club and let credible specialists evaluate their car.
