Actually, as I was writing my post I was thinking that there is a pretty good chance that you and Kidston are both right for this very reason. Not surprising at this level...

Will be interesting to know if the car can be repatriated to Europe, while being sold in US territory, without paying import duties, depending on its current status. In any case would be 5 % for UK, but even if not taxable to EU, because of its Italian origin and possibly some contractual construction, importing to Switzerland would be an extra 10%+ , not insignificant at this level of price. Another way to say unlikely the car will ever be registered in Switzerland, specially if you ever re sale, except for special construction again, you might have to pay import duties for EU again,,,

Ultimately, the difference in time zones meant I couldn't watch live so I won't know until I see results posted. Somebody else may have the RM results in which case please post :)

The Seinfeld cars were apparently spectacular which explains why they set some world records. It was somewhat uneven, though. The 917/30 sold post auction for 3mm (5-7mm estimate). Apparently he bought it in 2012 (Gooding, Amelia) for 4.4mm so even he gets things wrong sometimes. Anyways, if these are the cars that he wanted to get rid of, I can only imagine what's left in his collection!

If these results hadn't been seen already, some interesting, but confusing info (some lack results information? or, haven't been offered? It doesn't dictate).
