Ok I could be completely and utterly wrong here but the first few panoramas look really really good, but everything else is mediocre. Did you really take those? I am on various photography forums and have never seen someone who can have such differences in skill level, you go from perfectly focused and very well exposed images to a portrait that is out of focus, I just don't really understand.
Yes, I did take each and every photo I posted. The panoramas were taken with an HP point and shoot camera and the portrait pictures were taken with my new Nikon D3000. I was, and still am, getting used to the D3000 and the lenses, so that is why the portrait photos are just average; just getting used to the new camera. Thanks, -G.B.
Wrong link. Here's the real one: http://s874.photobucket.com/albums/ab302/F430GB/Supercar%20Photoshoot/?action=view¤t=c307c6f6.pbw -G.B.
Hey I know those cars. Nice shots overall. I would really watch your backgrounds and lighting. Personally I find most static car pictures to be all the same and not a particularly good way to showcase photography talent. The only thing that tends to make them standout is location or lighting. In your case the lighting was not going your way and the location was a bit lacking in contrast, (though a beautiful house and gorgeous cars) I think you know what I mean. Because of that days particular lighting and your location I think your closeups were a bit more interesting and at least one showed a fresh take and not just the usual emblem and wheel pics. Keep shooting, I enjoy it alot. Check this place out, lots of places to get ideas and learn. www.pbase.com
So I still haven't forgotten about this thread. I jsut created a Flickr and posted some shots there. Check them out and tell me what you think! http://www.flickr.com/photos/24673238@N07/ Thanks, -G.B.
PS. I added you as a contact The only thing I would change is this picture: http://www.flickr.com/photos/24673238@N07/4918319364 The reflections in the chrome are all uneven, and bouncing back up from the pavers. PS. Go PRO on flickr for 24.95 a year, and you get original Hi-Res pictures, it's worth it. And subscribe here while you are at it
Here is my edit for you, and IMO, it's a big change: EDIT: Another thing, play with DoF, and get the pavers and that tree thing out of focus and the grill in main focus BEFORE Image Unavailable, Please Login AFTER Image Unavailable, Please Login
I use flickr's editing program picnik, and used the Black & White thing, and went over the grill. Here's another example of one of my shots that I fixed up doing the same, took a while, but I love the turnout. BEFORE: Image Unavailable, Please Login AFTER: Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wow! That IS an improvement! Very nice! Thanks man! I'll add you (and others that have added me) once I figure out how to do so. -G.B.
Thanks G! Like J said, I've loved your pictures also. You don't need to edit When you enter Picnik, the top bar, click CREATE, then go to EFFECTS, select Black and White, and it should show up as black and white, click it, and it will turn your ENTIRE photo B&W. If you want to select certain colors, in the bottom right, just above the CANCEL button, click the paintbrush. It should pop open another small window, called EFFECT PAINTING. To select what you want, hit ORIGINAL, and paint where the color you want to appear, and you should get the color you want to show, to show. That's probably all there is to know. Let me know if you need more help or if it doesn't work.
Still haven't forgotten about this thread. I have recently tried doing some portrait shots (thank God I have a patient girlfriend). Here are three photos; one from each of my "specialties" (Scenic, Automotive, Portrait). Thanks! -G.B. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
