I guess to most people the 500 looks appeal more? The 600 is not as well known either. For example I’m no fan of the 250GTO Ferrari. However i’m all over the 250 LM like a rash!

    Love that!

Isn't it strange how addictive these little cars are. I guess the driving experience is unique. When I'm in other cars, the speed on motorways is always high and you feel that you are in a rush to get everywhere. In the 500, as I max cruise at 100KM (62mph) its so much more relaxed. I sit in the slow lane and enjoy the drive more, arrive less stressed etc. Knowing that you can't go faster works and on most trips, its only a few mins difference at most.

Only negative is the cabin noise at that speed. But means I don't have to talk to the wife as she won't hear me anyway. Win win :D

That's funny but true. You don't realize just how small these cars are until a truck passes you. Having many of these 500's, their highly addictive!

Hello Rosario, What would be the cost with shipping of importing a 650 engine with synchronized trans. to the U.S. for my 1971 500?

I just purchased a 500 and am interested in how your car is now as I assume it is finished. Mine is currently stock and would like to increase the power to a 650. Where is dibellafiats and how long did it take to get your parts and costs?

My first Italian car was a 600D. It was a brand new 1968 model that I don't believe ever got fully certified by the USA. I loved it. It got me through all sorts of adventures in life... including being a door-to-door baby photographer. It made me feel like I was in a Fellini movie. The radio was a little two dollar transitor that I hung on the wind wing. You definitely needed a tail wind on long up-hill grades. On the freeway I just buried my foot in the throttle and played the traffic for momentum. A perfect companion for small towns like Santa Barbara, Monterey, Bridgeport and Bar Harbor.

Funny thing about these old Fiat’s, they catch my eye every time one rolls into a cars and coffee. They are just so neat looking.
