Hey All Just wanted to share some videos from my Allen Berg racing school experience at Road Atlanta. I'll post one here next but just wanted to say - WOW so much track time. I was shocked at how physical the cars are... and how badly out of shame I am. my neck was the worst off... the aero at 120 MPH... crazy, and for sustained time... anyhow the first video is of Stop Box open lapping... this was just focusing on the lines and smoothness. 4500 RPM limit - which you will see I may have gone over from time to time... friends of mine are like don't lift going into the esses... or into T1, but also those are places where I was going over the rev limit... anywho it was great fun, super intense. highly recommend.

No worries if it's too much of a pain. Was looking at their website, told me what I needed to know; might be something to consider or look forward to this fall. Sounds like you had a great time!

it was great! literally too much track time. The cars are very physical... I was shocked at the neck work out... the aero impact on my helmet was really tough.

Were you there running during The Mitty? If so I probably have some photos of you. They had a few cars out there running.

I was not - Alex Berg was - he was in a DP01 and Indy Lights car. it was a shame during the Saturday Indy lights race he was WAY out ahead, then they black flagged him for a loose fitting piece of body work. still finished 2nd. the guy who won - was 80! and driving a V-10 indy, F-3 car... it was a franken car... but really fast! and light.

    Tom,
Did you have issue with substraps too long because hard to adjust in those cars? Looks like cam is bellybutton or higher. Could be just bad picture or not fully strapped in that pic?

I think in the pic it was just laying on me, they were adjusting the shoulder straps. I did not have any problem moving around in the car... the only thing was my size vs. the car... ideally I could sit lower but that would be on the tub floor... while that would be ok, you need some padding under your butt... tail bone area. there are a few bumps that give you a thump. the hardest thing was the crotch straps, getting them tight and in the right place - if you get my meaning... once they are fully clear and tight ... it was good. the only other thing i could have used was a good head rest.

If you're going to do more open wheel stuff, consider getting a rear spoiler for your helmet. I found that it makes a big difference. You can even just get one of those clear stick on ones pretty cheap. I was skeptical about the add on ones, but then I noticed that a bunch of the Indycar and F-1 guys use them.
