Paris simply looked like more of the same dynamic seen at Scottsdale with some strong sales, plenty of low ball offers and a fair bit of turbulence. As for specifics, it does seem weird that both D-Types got bid to zones that should have sold at Scottsdale and here we are in Paris where the 166MM/53 at RM went to 3.55 million (against a $3.7 low estimate) and didn't sell as also the 250GT Cabriolet Serie I at Artcurial was bid to the high $6s which was between where Artcurial estimated it AND the real value of these cars. Either some rather expensive crystal light fittings are bidding OR the vendors are playing hard ball with their reserves and IMHO, they wont get a better offer next time....

What may set the signal for the direction of the market is what happens at Amelia in a couple of weeks. The recent heart palpitations in the stock market, inflation and interest rate concerns should be fully digested.
