One of the best vacations we ever had. http://home.earthlink.net/~fchat/Scotland2001.htm Finished each day with a different single malt. <signed> Bryanosaurus Islay
You're right about the power Cointreau / Grand Marnier - orange flavored, but 80 proof. Alise = 40 proof Hpnotiq = 34 proof RemyRed = 32 proof
LOL, thanks, Andrew... If you've ever had Grand Marnier, you'd know how much veracity is in that statement...
I know I know, But if you want to get loaded, and your after volume not quality, and you want a hangover you can live with, scotch and soda is the way. Ask me why I know, but those days are gone for ever!!!
If the objective is "to get loaded" at the lowest price with minimal hangover, then you can't beat 200 proof grain alcohol. It's the other molecules in the bottle that gives you the headaches (aldehydes, especially). Not my 'cup of tea', though.
LOL... One day i'm sure i'll find out what a hangover is... Until then, i'll continue getting Tucker Max drunk whenever the opportunity presents itself and will enjoy it into the next morning...
Hangovers are completely avoidable. Water is the key, and not drinking cheap liquor. The impurities in the liquor contribute, but so does dehydration. Gentry's fool proof no-hanger method: Drink at least 8oz of water for ever 16oz of alcohol. Stay up as LATE as you can (after you stop drinking that is). Before you go to sleep, drink 2 or 3 glasses of water and take 2 ibuprofen (do it now before your stomach revolts). You should wake up in the AM just fine. At most, you will have an upset stomach and might need to puke once. But generally after the one time, you are tip top. If it doesnt work. Cold compresses on your forehead work MIRACLES.
I had a roommate in college who, WITHOUT FAIL, every Saturday before heading out would put three glasses of water and an Alka-Seltzer on the table next to his bed.
Do not take ibuprofen after consuming alcohol! Taking Ibu (and other salicylate drugs) can lead to an increased risk of liver damage and stomach bleeding/ulcers. Also, AVOID using tylenol (and other drugs containing acetaminophen) and alcohol together as you can really screw up your liver in a big, fast way. Pain killers or alcohol. NEVER both.
My objective is to get as wasted as possible, whilst drinking something i enjoy the taste of. Remember, the trip is just as important as tjhe destination? Korr, are you saying i should've never had vicodin or percocet with wenme all those time...?
Last Christmas I got my Dad a bottle of Remy Martin Louis XIII. A week later I saw it still in the back seat of his car! (This year he got a book!) QUOTE=gentry]I dont have you on ignore. Sorry if I missed a question you asked somewhere, was not intentional. And ironically, spirits happen to be one of my hobbies (not drinking lots of them, but knowing them). Alize is a flavored cognac. I liken it to people who like wine coolers but want a bit more of a punch. If you liked Alize, try Hypnotic. It is good as well. Why is Hennessey out of your league? Just flavor wise? (Cognac can be a punch when you aren't used to it). If it is price, you can get Hennessey V.S. for not too much. You can get a bottle of Courvoisier V.S. for $25 bucks. You can get a bottle of Kelt V.S.O.P for 45-50 bucks. These are all decent cognacs and good starters. Gentry "Bruces favorite know it all" Wilson
This is true of any analgesic. Asprin, tylenol, ibuprofen. In this case, the damage to your liver and your stomach is going to come from the alcohol though. The ibuprofen (substitute your choice of analgesic for it) is to keep you from having a headache in the morning, not save your liver in 20 years. The risk of liver damage and stomach problems is greater with the alcohol than the pills. They might not help, but they certainly aren't going to be the biggest contributor. You don't happen to smoke do you?
ACK! I'd have gotten him a book on how to care for $1500 bottles of Cognac. BTW, I almost spit out my instant breakfast on that one.
