Got this in a response to an email query - anyone ever heard of them? Dear Sir, we have found so late your request in an old advertisement link. If you are still interested in the TZ2 replica, you can visit our web site: www.notarcars.co.uk Thank you Felice Bortoli
There was a company in California that was selling a tz1 replica with tube frame and a 2 liter but i passed on it.
I was impressed with the first pictures, but then read how some of the 6C replicas were fitted GRP bodywork and modern BMW straight six engine!!!! I do not respect such work.
I was impressed with the first pictures, but then read how some of the 6C replicas were fitted GRP bodywork and modern BMW straight six engine!!!! I do not respect such work. Needless to say the TZ2 looks great. It would be the ultimate kit!
although if you read closely, they propose to offer alloy as an option; and use of Alfa motors if desired....... snj5: have you gotten any additional info yet? like $$$$? james
Email sent requesting info - do not think the price will be very attractive. Maybe if I can get some TZ parts on it I can have a re-creation like Jim's P3/4 0846... I still wish someone would make a 33 Stradale replica Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I just wish I was in the 70s so I could pick the originals up for next to nothing! But, seriously, if anyone could give an indicaton of price it would be interesting. Makes a great break from all those Cobra kits.
Raoul San Georgi just got 450,000 Euros for his 1939 Tipo256/6c2500 Le Mans-1940 Mille Miglia replica (aluminum body built on a real post-war 6c2500SS chassis with a post-war 6c2500SS chassis) Insane money for a replicar, no matter how good it is. I wonder what they want for the Ala Spessa with a 1960s Alfa 106/2600 engine?? Think I'll e-mail them and ask...
I rather have a 1300 SZ longtail, but they only built 30, and the only one I know for sale is $225,000!!
I'd be happy with just the Alfa SZ. TZ2 will be nice, especially to participate in the Mille Milia rally (the new poser one).
Here is the reply I recieved today on the TZ-2 and Ala Spessa from Mr Bortoli. Interestingly, he is reading this FChat thread with us:
"...Prices: We try to be as cosistent as possible and we try to keep prices as low as possible, please ask Mr. Eau rouge to fully explain my reply, where I also give an idea of prices...." Eau_Rouge: do you have this pricing info from F. Bortoli? TIA, James
I got a reply too! Euro 40000 for a fullty built car with TS motor from the 155. This would appear to be good choice if it is the early Alfa Nord engine as used in the first 155s. Dear Sir, Thank you for your valued enquiry. Our company, established in Italy close to Mantova, is very young, and as of the present time we are unable to supply any written documentation such as drawings or formal specifications, but the following information should be sufficient to give you an idea of our work and products. We are now completing the initial prototype of the NOT Z2, a replica of the A.R. TZ2. The 2500 SS Ala Spessa is currently available for viewing. NOT Z2: Chassis: Drawings are have been based on genuine publicly available documents, verified through several visits to the Alfa Museum and with the work of a student of the Politecnico di Milano engineering university. Because the car is intended also for a normal road use, we have used seamless cold drawn tubes, normalised, with a thickness of 2 mm as opposed to the original 1 mm for increased durability. We have used 25 CrMo 5 steel and each chassis is manufactured from the same batch of steel for which we can supply a data sheet and sheet of conformity. Welds are checked with dye penetration liquid upon completion. Suspensions kinematics have been CAD verified. An anti roll bar complying with FIA rules will be fitted. Body: The body is moulded direct from an original Alfa mould; in the attached picture you can see that we have found the impression of the original Autodelta triangular logo on the side. Because it was a race car, precision and finish was not originally a priority, so we have done a full rebuild and correction of this body in order to have perfect left/right symmetry, along with straight and continuous light lines, this of course is done with complete respect for the original spectacular shape. So, now, our body looks like a modern industrial product. It will be laminated for us by a company experienced in the manufacture of racing boats in vinylester resin and bi-directional glass laminate. In the future we aim to offer a composite Kevlar® body option, in order to save weight and increase stiffness. Doors will have anti-intrusion bars for safety. Windshield is CE marked and manufactured by a supplier to Ferrari and Lamborghini, once again this allows us to assure the highest quality of the end product.
You know, If they would supply a rolling chassis without engine and transmission with mounts for the Alfa 105 series... this might almost make sense for a fun project car. Like maybe in the $20s.....
I do not have an answer as yet to the price of the Ala Spessa, using a 1960s Alfa Romeo 106/2600 motor instead of a period 6c2500 motor...
Dear friends, First I would like to thank all of you for your interest in the very young NOTAR CARS operation. Lets start from the beginning: NOT A. R. of course mean not A. R. We dont produce fake cars using AR logo, but just replicas. This also mean that we try to improve performances following the evolution of the state of the art. The logo: In the middle, the green figure represent the Camunian rose (stone age rock graving in Val Camonica), symbol of Lombardy, the region of Milano and Mantova; the shape of the rose give also the idea of a spinning wheel. Red spots represents the bolts of the wheel. In the white field we remember our Italian origin. In the blue circle: Figure of eight knot represent the respect of tradition and is a connection with my other hobby (sailing). Stars represent six countries founders of the European Community (Traité de Rome), an also a connection with my loved boat (a Star). About cars: Ala Spessa: It is a very special car. After the Bugatti Tank and may be some other French manufacturer I think it is the first car with mudguards incorporated in the body, and by sure Jaguar C have taken the inspiration. This car is only manufactured on request, and before any negotiation we must speak deeply about wishes. NOT Z2 We made a lot of improvements on the original design. Engine: absolutely Alfa Romeo wet liner (first series 155, or 75 or 90 or Milano), no FIAT derivate iron bloc. Suspensions: on the way to be redesigned by a F1 suspensions specialist (not Ferrari) in order to improve performances. Body and interior: to be comparable with modern industrial products. Thank you for the attention. Felice Bortoli
