Here is a thread for the Alfetta based Alfa Romeo GTV6 built from 1980-1987. They built around 25,000 of them. These are photos of my early 1983 GTV6. It has 48 MM Plenum runners, Shankle headers, modified ECU, 36MM torsion bars and Shankle sway bars+rear springs, Autodelta/Sperry cams in a 3.0 Milano motor with 164S liners and pistons+S crank, OZ front 7X15 wheels and 8X16 Speedline rears, Shankle fiberglass bumpers, anti dive Milano type rear suspension, cross drilled brakes. I have owned it for 20 years and put very few miles on it. I also own a 1982 Balocco wich is being restored along with many other cars. i have owned 3 of these in my day. i have always had a very soft spot for them. they look and sound is soooo distinctive. that is a nicely modded car. careful with those flex joints and drive shaft!
I've always rather liked these. My friend has a pretty decent one for sale at his Alfa specialty shop: http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/car/622579707.html
Stunning GTV6!!!!! The ride height and mags are spot on, couldnt have done it better!....I used to have a Milano 2.5, boy oh boy do i miss my Alfa V6, nothing quite like it. Here is a video of a special 3.6 GTV6, what a sound.............. http://youtube.com/watch?v=x8ZkExLvHWo
Hi! Since teenager I've always hooked with this car. The brother of a friend of mine had one, with Zender Kit. The car always looked fantastic and sounded even better. The five years ago I got mi hands on a good example, rust free, bodywork in good condition and minor work on various systems. Some time after, I algo bought an Alfetta GTV 2000, a 1978 example, prepared for Historic Rally Racing, a great little toy and perfect match with the V6 grunt. Also, I've got a good 1984 GTV body, and I'm planning to build a replica of the GTV6 Group A racer, that Ives Loubet drove to class win in the 1986 Tour de Corse Rally, one of the best looking racing liveries ever. Some pictures. Best regards, Alvaro. Here are a few photos of the FIA Touring car Championship winning GTV6's. They won from 1981-1985. The GTV6 won more races than the famed GTA!! Luigi Racing and Jolly Club took most of the wins. I had a Black on Black 85 GTV6 I bought it new and had until 2001. It was in great shape but fell off a tow truck on the way to getting the clutch bearing fixed. I loved that car and was severly depressed for 3 months after it was totaled. My wife could not understand how I could be depressed about a car. To me it was like losing a pet.
I had one of these, a 1982 V6, from '99 to 2004. It had 55,000 km on the dial when I bought it and was in great shape. Really enjoyed her for 20,000kms until a "specialist" cleaned the engine and in the three years that I tried to get her fixed she never came right again, no matter how much money I spent with 5 different garages. Kept on giving too much fuel (8 mpg anyone?). Broke my heart. Eventually sold her for next to nothing. What a nice car it was until 2001... Onno Image Unavailable, Please Login

i love this car, its so unique from the sound, to the looks, and from an engineering standpoint. Here is mine http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2238/2310083212_eea65028c4_o.jpg i also have a 2.0 which i am selling.
I LOVE this car!! It is one of two cars I still want to add to my scuderia some day. Wanted one since high school.
Cavallino Rampante I posted the photo of your car. It looks like a really good one. The big problem I have found with these cars is Gearbox gearsets. I know GTA style ratios work pretty well. A Ferrari Club guy I know had them installed in his Balloco(Grand Prix in Europe) when he had a 24 valve installed. On high perfomance engines you have to use the hydraulic tensioner. When looking for a GTV6 remember most of them were not taken care of. After 21 years being out of production good ones are very very rare. Remember they only made around 25,000 GTV6's. To compare, they made over 20,000 308-328's, but they were mostly taken care of. For special editions, The Balloco was made as a sister to the European Grand Prix in Italy at the factory. The Maratoga was made by Alfa USA by converting cars after they had come to America. Both have stock motors. The best special GTV6 is the 3.0 South African version made in small numbers to allow racing in the SA touring car championship. All GTV6's came with a 5 speed gearbox. Here is a in cockpit video from the IGNIS Australian Touring GTV6. This car was built up from an ex Luigi team car in the mid 1980's. Its nice to watch horsepower vs handling. The little Alfa V6 does love to rev!! http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=iUahFIeThbE
Really impressive!!!! Love the noise of the gearbox and the "clack" when inserting!!! ...... uhmmmm, I think I'm going to get my GTV6 out for a ride this night.
This is my third and has just passed 50k miles. Photography from PO. Car has since been lowered a touch. Definitely a lot of fun for relatively little money. Interiors tend to be typical 80's crap but otherwise IMO they are great looking cars. The toughest aspect is finding a decent one that hasn't been hammered. Hi! White GTV's are always nice to see, and very rare here in Europe. Those wheels.... ¿Ronal? Best regards.

Does anyone know of a forum i can go to in order to see listings for these vehicles ? Ebay does not have any for sale ? I would love to pick one up, A friend of mine had one in 86-87 and I had always loved driving it. thanks
I would check back on ebay. It may take time as alot of the cars are not in very good condition(most). The good ones go for a premium. If you go to the Alfa Club convention this year you mignt see a few. I know of a perfect red one that has under 15,000 miles that the owner always says is for sale if he was offerered enough money. Also check the Alfa Owner for cars that are for sale. You would have to become a club member to get the magazine. Best, Tom Tanner/Scale Designs
I have a nice one for sale in the Atlanta area. http://www.alfabb.com/bb/forums/alfa-romeo-cars-sale-wanted/71351-84-gtv6-sale-konis.html --Dave
thank you for the link Dave .. however I am not a mechanic by any stretch of the imagination, so I am looking for a drivable car at this time. I appreciate the link though. regards tom
Found a few more FIA European Touring RAC GTV6 photos. The photos are from 1984 and show the Jolly Club and Luigi cars along with the "local" British GTV6 teams:
Here are the photos. They are taken by Rich Harmon and were posted on photobucket. The Jolly Club car is getting its Torsion bars changed. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
