Took the Scud out for a drive today. When I got in I looked at the dashboard and immediately I noticed wrinkles in the alcantara. Can't remember those being there, because it is very, very ugly! I looked at some of the interior pictures I shot when I took delivery. In these photos there are no wrinkles whatsoever. Rest of the alcantara interior seems OK, only the dashboard has a several... Anybody (had or) with the same problem? (2486 km on the odometer)

Took some pictures (passenger airbag also has this problem, but to dark for a photo)

Wow! That is bad. Never seen that and I'd imagine the alcantara on the Stradales is similar. Usually tightens with heat exposure. Doesn't usually loosen like that. I would be really annoyed and definitely take it to the dealer and make a warranty claim.

For 300 grand, you deserve a dash without wrinkles!

Maybe your detailer put something on there he didn't know would do that? That happened to my leather after putting Connelly hide food once.

Ive wrapped a few car dashes in alcantara before....This reminds me of a time I used a fabric guard on one and it was a bit much apparently at first it was fine but throughout the summer months i started to get little loose areas and wrinkles from where it had a chemical reaction with the adhesive.....unfortunately the only solution was to re-wrap the dash and clean it thoroughly.

If i have to CLEAN it i usually use a light mix of soap and water, and try not to use anything too strong on it in the future.

    That looks terrible.

They will have to stretch your dash as the material has loosened up. I'm pretty sure the dealer will warranty this. They'll send it out to a shop that specializes in leather and upholstery to refit the material. Sadly, it is likely you will have the problem again. Be sure to get an open ticket on the work and a warranty. It is VERY expensive to repair as they generally have to remove the dash. I've seen it done with removal, and without. The without went back twice in a year. It will look as good as new when they're done, though.

Thanks for al the quick replies! It's great to have so many Ferrari-enthusiasts sharing opinions and experiences.

I clean my cars myself. I only use a vacuum cleaner for the interior. I know alcantara and fluids is NO GO. I thought that maybe it's the dealers detailer, but I don't understand why it shows up now and not earlier?

When Ferrari uses such a fabric-guard wouldn't al the cars with alcantara have this problem?

Looks exactly the same! Same spot too... Weird!

I will go to the dealer asap. Thanks!

The issue is not unique to alcantara and can be fixed easily, no worries.

Mine looks like that all over the place. I never considered it a warranty issue, just "Italian" build quality.
    Maybe I'll reconsider my position.

Haha, that's one way to look at it. That explains the loose logos and stone-guard (front bumper) after the first drive. :D
