Just received my GM siren (part #15213135) from GM Parts Direct. Manufactured in Hungary and is supposedly a direct replacement for the OEM Ferrari siren. These contain batteries (which is what fails) so I was concerned about getting a part that has been sitting on a shelf for 10 years. Thankfully this one has a manufacture date on it of July 2014. Cost was a mere $70 US.

I will update with results once installed this weekend. Cheers

That unit is not a direct replacement. It will work to kill the red light in the dash, and to restore the chirping when arming and disarming. However, it will not sound if the alarm is tripped. In all fairness, I haven't researched it in years, so it may have changed, so please report back once it's installed.

Well that didn't work out too well. Install took 15 minutes last night and got one chirp when plugging it in and one chirp for arm and two chirps for disarm. Then when I got the alarm to trip, all hell broke loose. Cannot get alarm to disarm no matter what I do. Tried killing battery switch, even unplugged the siren and plugged in old one. Both sirens go off regardless of whether battery switch is on or off. Even unplugged and turned off switch overnight thinking it may reset but when I plugged in OEM siren only this AM the alarm is still going off. Tried all three fobs and they all lock and unlock but alarm still going off. Car will even start with alarm going off.

I have all three fobs but car came with no code. I guess I'm going to unhook the battery completely to try and force a reset.

I have to note that I think I may have a bad sensor somewhere since I was still getting four chirps after arming or starting the car with either siren.

Four chirps can mean a compartment is open. Check the hood is latched and the rear hatch is latched or a door is ajar..

Well I guess the spellcheck misprint in the thread title is fitting now because I am "alarmed". Unhooked both battery terminals and re-hooked, tried pressing all the buttons, started car and pressing buttons, pulling fuse and so on. I unhook the siren and the lights still flash. Unhook the battery and it stops but as soon as I rehook it's still tripped. Pull fuse it stops reinsert fuse it's still tripped.

Seems like the alarm stuck in panic mode or tripped mode with no possible way to reset it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would check your fob battery and make sure your fob isn't part of the problem.
You may have to re-link your fob to your system? I read here that fobs can un-learn where they are in the rolling code. I think this is done with 3 or 6 quick presses of fob button.

    Hope this helps.

OK my "panic" mode is ended. I found an old thread from Sidned in Northampton UK (Ironically I grew up in Northampton Pennsylvania) and read that the alarm goes into panic mode when the siren is changed and you need to unlock the doors and hold down the fob button for a while until it resets.

Now that that is sorted I am back to where I started with the old siren (that I'm not sure is actually bad) and the four keeps telling me I have a bad switch in one of the doors or one of the bonnets.

Next question guys and sorry for rambling. When the alarm bypasses for a faulty switch or an open door or bonnet does it bypass all switches? I am arming the alarm with one chirp, which is then followed by four chirps. I then open one switch thinking the alarm would go off if it's not the single switch that was bypassed/faulty. I did this four times with each individual switch and could not get the alarm to trip with any of them.

My alarm siren does not work either. Where are you getting the info? Repair manual?

Phew, found the issue and everything is working perfectly now. Fuse was blown to interior light and it was wreaking havoc on the alarm. Must be tied into the alarm via the door pin switches. Nothing wrong with factory siren. Very happy now!

Jackgt I was referencing the owner's manual, alarm manual, service manual, and FChat all for a blown fuse for interior lights!

Actually I never got that far since that wasn't the problem. Already sent back to supplier. Sorry I don't have an answer!

I changed out my bad alarm siren unit which the alarm light is always on, unit chirps but no alarm. I bought a GM 15213135 and installed after adding a remote battery. Batteries are rather a b}#^*^ to get unsoldered from the board. Used my solder sucker iron and copper braid and still cut several to get up to temperature to melt the solder. I checked for difference between the new and the old and board configure version is V11895 on both the Ferrari unit that was original, the new GM board.

The alarm system behavior is the same as the "Basic Version" as discribed in the Ferrari alarm manual. Basic version is Italy, France, Sweden, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Austria, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Middle East, South Africa, and Hong Kong. Alarm does not sound while in alarm mode, only the lights flash. I guess I'm good with the way it functions if they are in these countries above.

When I hear an car alarm, I usually think to myself, yah right, another idiot who can't figure out the key fob thing-a-ma-jig. I never think of a car being stolen. To many chicken Little's conditioned my reaction.

I'm happy without the audible alarm and just the lights.

Total Success for $85 including shipping, plus $20 for parts to mod the battery.

When changing out the battery on mine, I decided to relocate the battery outside of the module since it's going to leak again in a few years. Just for thoughts...
