Those boots in the engine compartment certainly were not factory standard.

    Hi all you funny guys....

I can assure you that those boots are made in Italy, but I am not sure if they came as a part of the Dino optional package :)

Thanks Matthias, I have been studying your compendium in details since christmas evening -:)

That's confirms my suspicion. At least the lid is original Dino stuff.
I plan to weld up the holes properly and use it until I might be so lucky to source a time period correct lid.
It appears from your compendium that the there should be a "FISPA" sticker on the airbox lid and no further labels/stickers on the euro L-series airbox or lid. Is that correct? and is it possible to sources this "FISPA" sticker anywhere? (Have used the search function to no reveal).

    Best regards

    Peter

    Hello Peter,

early L-series have the same airbox lid as the 206 GT`s (see picture)
You should also have the early air filter box.
I have one set of decals for both boxes left.

    Regards Matthias

    Hi all,

As you might know I have tried to source a correct airbox lid for my L series with no luck at all. Therefore I decided to convert my old US style lid into a repro L series air box lid. The biggest challenge was the two indentations in the lid. I have access to a lathe and decided to make my own small "English wheel" and see if I could roll the two stripes into the metal. I was so pleased with the result that I took the big step and cut the frame out of my US lid and welded it to the homemade base part. Now I am just awaiting proper weather for the paint job.

    Best regards

    Peter

Thanks Matthias. Do you have any good hints with regards to applying the decals. Shall I apply a layer of lacquer after the decals are put on or is that not necessary?

I would think that`s not necessary, but is obviously a protection
    up to you... :)
without a layer of lacquer it will proabably have some patina soon...

    Hi Matthias,

I am also currently in the process of restoring my Dino 206 and am looking for the airbox decals / stickers. Do you have any left? You can reach me on [email protected].

    Your help would be appreciated.

    Wilhelm
