Does anyone know why Ferrari stopped equipping newer models with air horns. My Mondial and 355 had one and I thought they were great. Has anyone installed an air horn in a 360?

Yes, I mounted one behind the front bumper, basically next to the washer bottle. The factory horns are at the front air inlets, so you can patch into the horn signal wire there. You need to run a power source to it as well.

Air horns cost more and are tougher to design in space - wise when designing a new car. You need room for the compressor, air lines, and trumpets. It's just cheaper and easier to plug in an electronic horn...but it's just not the same! It's a bit tight in the 430, I ended up mounting the compressor to the steering rack (no room in the bumper due to the huge washer reservoir).

Here's my install. I took my time and it was not that difficult. I did spend alot of time reshaping and adjusting the existing bracktets to hold the new horns. I used one of the wires suppling the existing horn to supply the air compressor and sealed and tucked away the other. My install went well thanks to posts that I found here. BTW the horn kit came from Ricambi.

It was a very popular conversion originally and Ricambi may even keep the dedicated kit
