Fiamm Series 2000 compressor O ring replacement from Ace Hardware. Very close to original. size: 1 3/4 x 1 5/8 x 1/16, #52 O ring, STK No 357668, Danco Company, Concordville PA 19331 $0.59 Couple of things I observed. 1. Use air compressor oil or light machine oil, (3 in 1) 2. If you take out the 4 vanes for cleaning, they should go back in the exact location and same orientation to insure the most effective seal and air flow force. 3. When bench testing, it is possible to reverse the polarity. The compressor will run but will sick in air. You can feel this by putting your finger over the nozzle. Make sure your compressor is blowing OUT air when testing your horns. 4. After you lube the compressor, especially if it has not been run for a long time or you are lubricating it for the first time in many years, disconnect the hose to the horns to allow excess oil to come out and not get pushed into the horns. Once it is running smoothly and is well lubricated, reinstall the hose. 5. The horns can be tested separately with an air compressor or a can of compressed air. 6. For the best Ferrari or Italian car sound, the horns were made from metal, not plastic and use two tones, a middle and high tone. 7. Try to get the shortest hose length for the loudest sound. If you are really interested in an outrageously detailed post about these horns, their history and details, check this out. http://www.tomyang.net/cars/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3189&st=0&sk=t&sd=a
I couldn't take my Fiamm 3000 horn compressor apart so I put oil thru both valves and blew air thru with a compressor. The horns are even louder than they were before. Problem solved. thanks for all the help.
