this means absorbent glass mat battery, Alot of the newer BMWs have these, you dont.Just put in on std. They are meant for deep cycling, non servicable. Cost 2 or 3 times as much.

An Interstate MTP24F is a "Mega Tron Plus" -- a standard lead-acid battery.

    Use standard setting.

AGM batteries are a deep cycle alternative battery type, like the Optima yellow-top.

Sorry not quite right! Red top optima is a regular AGM, yellow top is a deep cycle AGM. AGM's are sealed lead acid battery's that uses microfiberglass to trap gases during dischge cycle and recharge. It is a maintenance free battery using gas recombination like a true Gel battery. Gel battery uses Gel to trap gases during cycling instead of microfiberglass. Gel battery's due to gel medium is more expensive to manufacture. It too is a maintenance free battery. Both retain charge much longer than old lead acid batteries. Both Gel and AGM have a problem with improper overcharging and that is destruction. Have lost two Optima red tops this way. No problem with using the "tender", but if using a regular charger, use charger specified for eg AGM, Gel or regular lead acid. Many new chargers have this capability of separating type with aid of a switch.
