I have decided to go with Argento Nurburgring for the exterior. I would love to hear anyones opinion on interior color and break calipers. Currently leaning toward a red and black interior. Thanks for any advice!

Keep it classy. You have a lot of colors going on there. I'd stay with a single interior color with contrasted stitching instead

Another option which I think looks amazing is thick piping. Look for my post on my 488 seats

Maybe black interior with yellow piping or stitching.

Plus yellow callipers with dark grey wheels?

That would look good, or cuio seats with black piping or very light / cream seats with dark grey or black piping

I would make a guess that the overwhelming majority of 458's and 488's have either Nero or Curio interiors. The crema (off white) leather/alcantara are stunning in person; especially with darker color exteriors, including all variants of rosso. That's what I have planned for the next Ferrari. I personally think beige is the least interesting and unimaginative color even though it 'works' with many exterior contrasting colors. e.g., contrast stitching over beige leather never works well. White CF racing seats with red stitching, red seat belts, look stunning! People may say...white gets dirty easily! To me...cleaning it will be a privilege and the labor of love an intrinsic reward.

Silver cars looks best with silver calipers. Red, yellow, periwinkle or whatever calipers may look a bit odd and dated.

Some interior colors look terrific but don't seem to work so well with silver... the beiges, browns, tans, creams come to mind. Black works best, in my opinion.

Don't get light colored deviating stitching or it will reflect onto your windshield on sunny days.

Have fun! You can't go wrong with any combination on these cars.

I think you have to decide on how whimsical and different you want the interior to be. AN is a great exterior color. I was once told by someone who built a lot of Ferraris and other special cars, they would decide on the interior first, and then decide on the exterior. I think most of us do it the way you are: exterior first.

If it were my build, I think AN is a bit more of a "straight to business" type of color, so I would do your black interior. Here are a few thoughts:

    1. Really buttoned down: black leather throughout. Standard (non contrasting stitching) embossed horses on the seat headrests. Black Rev meter. Diamond finish wheels with black wheel calipers. Fender shields need to remain the standard yellow or don't do them at all. Wheel caps can be yellow or CF, purely personal preference. I just don't believe in messing with the SF Shield.

    2. A little less buttoned down: Black leather throughout, but now rosso contrast stitching as well as rosso stitched horse on the headrests. The rest as above.

    3. Just a little bit more aggressive: Same as above but now the stripe on the seats in rosso leather, maybe rosso seat belts, and if you want to have fun, rosso calipers (I think Id then go with the CF wheel caps)

    4. Even more aggressive: Same as above but now replace some leather with Alcantara. Specifically, I would replace the middle section of the seats with Alcantara and I would consider the "U" type pattern shown in the picture above or go with the "Stile" seats- you can see the pics on their website or search here- its a modern looking pattern and I think looks great in Alcantra. The little dots can be done in either white, red or yellow. Id go red. Then leather stripe down the middle of the seat, I would go red. Headliner and pillars, entire footwell including carpets in black alcantara. Id get them to make me 2 sets of carpets and ask for the leather tab down the outside with the horse stitched in rosso. For extra fun do the small seat side inserts (like piping) as shown in the picture above). I would probably go with a black rev counter or maybe white. I hear the aluminum color is kind of dull looking. And if I'm doing this spec, I think I would be tempted to do CF everywhere- even the engine bay.

Gee, it sure is fun when someone else is paying the bill! :)

Black (at least in optics), the absence of light - works with almost any other 'contrasting' color. That's why so many people choose it as an interior color as it works without much imagination. White, the presence of all colors - works equally well with any other darker colors (made famous in the Art Deco era during the 20s and 30s). Our personal preferences to color are much more scientific than most of us realize. Liking to pretty faces, we have a hardwired preference on aesthetics and often than not it is our innate ability to perceive symmetry, contrast, proportion, shades in both foreground and background. My point...both black and white are almost perfect backgrounds for any other contrasting colors. That's also why most paintings are started with a either white or black canvas. Can anyone think of any master work that was started on a beige canvas?

1.) I like black calipers. Colored to me are gimmicky and getting past their time.

2.) From experience, a light color on the dash is a negative due to reflections, though a uniform look can make it a reasonable tradeoff.

You can have your dealer arrange a visit to the Atelier on Park Avenue or a phone call with one of the staff to discuss possible interior designs. It's a free service and they are well versed in just about any combination that you can imagine.

I'd go with black interior and yellow stitching. Yellow horse on the headrest and yellow calipers. No piping.

I'd go with Bordeaux instead of Red interior. To me AN is a classic GT colour and red is more for a car with a sporty and aggressive exterior colour.

As for brake calipers I'd go with gloss black with that combo - especially if you plan to put the shields on it.

i agree with the choice of bordeaux - a very classy combination and more unique than a red interior. other than that, i'd go for something on the unique side. i'm always a fan of darker brown interiors and that might look very smart against the exterior. i prefer something out of the norm, as opposed to something more typical. you'll always have something a little different and that seems to appeal to people - as long as it's not flat out horrible. ;-)

My interior is black Daytona s red stitching with red tach to match the red calipers. I'm still loving it.

Don't match the stitching to the color of the leather or it loses its effect. Also, go for the ULEZ option which gives you a leather headliner (not sure if you can order quilted yet). All that leather near the occupants heads makes for more powerful leather aromas.

You are in the "midwest". I lived in Illinois for 35 years. Black is too hot there.

My beige seats are really hard to keep clean.

Red seats and red calipers or silver sounds great.

I think the way you're leaning would look great...there's enough black in the 488 combo that the red doesn't overwhelm. Do the stitching in grigio scuro or chiaro to tie it back to the exterior. I've seen a number of F cars with that combo and with red brake calipers...can't go wrong. If you want to spice it up add a red steering wheel with CF.

Also looks great with the black roof if you're into that.
