    Hey Guys,

I hope this inst digging up the dead. I really would just like to know what the Current feel for quality and support that can be had from ADV1 is. It seems is 2012-2013 there was a lot of bad publicity. Has all this been cleared up as we fast forward to 2016? Or did ADV1 just have great marketing to go off and capture the market of unaware consumers. Can anyone share their experience and thoughts of ADV1 as they stand now in 2016 and not so much of what their past has been dirtied with. Bottom line, Would you trust this brand on your pride exotic car? I really like the wheels, but waiting to hear from my fellow community members before making a final decision......

Here is where I am at now and some info I found forcing me be hesitant on my decision.

I have been looking at a set of wheels for a 488 Spider arriving soon. After tons of google searching and forum reading, I fell in love with the ADV1 M2 Wheel found HERE....

    White Ferrari 488 GTB - ADV10.0 M.V2 SL - Gunmetal

I think a 21/22 Combo in Gunmetal Matte on a Canne Di Fucile 488 with Novitec Springs would be killer. Attached is a Render Wheels Boutique did for me on the Spec I have. Note the actual color of the rendered wheel is brighter Gloss gunmetal, Mine would be a bit darker in Matte Gunmetal.

I am going to put these wheels on a car that Ill have close to 1/2 Million into (MSRP $405k plus tax , wheels, Novitec Stage 2). So before really choosing a wheel, I want to be confident this thing wont come apart at 160-180 MPH (or at any speed). A wheel cracking at that speed could have very negative results. A lot is being said on the internet that these are not true track wheels and are more for just Show or Bling. If thats the case, I would prefer to go with a brand know for track quality wheels such as HRE. I was about ready to pull the trigger and get the ADV1 wheels until I started researching the ADV1 Brand and company.

It seems there is a very negative past on this company. Looks like Same owner of Forge360 left owing customers money with non fulfilled orders. The other big concern is back in 2012-2013 ADV1 was advertising their wheels to be TUV approved which seemed to not be true at that time (Google ADV1 Quality t osee threads regaurding this) . I dont think this is the case anymore (2016). Or is it?

Just google ADV1 Quality, or ADV1 problems and you will see so much negative news about the Company and the Owner. I like to give the benefit of the doubt and know competitors could be a part of the negative publicly, so I try to keep an open mind.

I did also read a story from Secret Entourage where Jordan the owner seems to shed some light with his side of the story. After reading that, I was thinking, ahhhh new business owner went through some troubles with his past company forge360, exited and started a new company. In his words, he took care of all customers of forge360. After reading this, I thought I could give the new company a chance... But there is still all this issue and drama regarding the quality and concerns that they are just importing Chinese Forges and machining them in USA. If thats the case, why would I pay $10k for Chinese product.

After going through all this, I came across the HRE P101.. .Dang they look sweet too. There just seems to be more of this model as compared to the rarer ADV1 series. I do like having something a little different as long as performance isnt sacrificed.

Ferrari 488 GTB with HRE P101 in Brushed Titanium | HRE Performance Wheels

After researching HRE, I feel they are a brand that has higher production standards and are TRACK proven. I just like those Damn ADV1 M2 so much more.

    In conclusion,
What brand would you guys go with if in my shoes?

Is the current 2016 Brand a night and day difference from the negative 2012 version found on the internet?

Most importantly, Do you feel the ADV1 are truly up to par in quality and are they truly TRACK ready. Or do you feel they are more for show and more for Bling.

Please understand I am not trying to dig up some old dirty laundry. Its just that I spent many many long hours trying to find recent reviews and reports on the current ADV1 brand. Before giving a company 10k I should to do a little background check first right. All I really found was tons of info from the past (2012-2013). I did see a lot of pictures and blogs with shots of the wheels on some sweeet cars. What I am really after though, are recent reviews, feedback, and customer experiences of the current ADV1 Brand. Dropping 10k on wheels is a decent amount. I simply want to be confident in who I am giving my hard earned money to.

Any thoughts, feedback or experiences would be much appreciated.

    Sincerely

    Patrick

You will forever have doubts and worry about quality if you get Adv1, why would you want to risk that? Get HREs and you will have piece of mind.

In an effort to not make a biased post, I just wanted to come in and say that if there's anything I can help with in regards to our wheels, I'd be happy to assist.

One additional thing I'd like to point out is in reference to to your comment - "I want to be confident this thing won't come apart at 160-180MPH." I would absolutely agree! I wouldn't want any wheel on my car that would do that, but just in case you wanted to go 247.25MPH in a standing half mile, here's proof you can do that on our wheels without an issue.

September, 2016 - Underground Racing 247.25MPH Standing Half Mile World Record - using HRE RS101M Wheels.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CgkVN3Q3-l4

The record before that. Also using HRE Wheels

June, 2016 - Underground Racing 240MPH Standing Half Mile World Record - Using HRE P104 Wheels.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xq6QGtvZv1U

And of course the record before that one goes to another super high HP Lamborghini on HRE P104 Wheels

    November, 2015 - 2,300hp Lambo goes 238.60MPH - NEW 1/2 MILE WORLD RECORD! - Using HRE P104 Wheels.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHW-ogV90l0

I could continue because there are plenty more videos out there, but I think you can see the trend!

    Patrick,

Being that we are a dealer for both, i can shed some light on wheels and what works and what doesnt for these cars.

ADV1 has been around for some time and has recently been purchased by MOMO italy. They are going through some major restructuring, tooling, and making sure that their products are up to par with everything else in the industry.

HRE on the other hand, has been the industry leader from day one. They create some of the most classy wheels and are over engineered to give a great look without sacraficing performance. They have a name in the industry like Rolex and are built here across from our facility in Southern California.

It has been years that ADV1 has always come out with more "edgy" designed wheels, but HRE has since responded with the help of us and many other industry retailers, to make sure that their designs now look as edgy and modern as they are engineered!

With that being said - i have built in house and shipped all over the country and world countless 458's and 488's and it has been an almost 50/50 split of HRE and ADV1's. It comes down to pure taste. On my personal 488, i went with 3 sets of HRE's and i absolutely love them - and know the car like the back of our hand. We have the fitment nailed down for the car so we are very comfortable with either brand!

Here are some images of the TAG 488 on HRE's as well as some other clients 488's we have recently done as well!

i have multiple sets of ADV1s and like the quality - no issues with high speeds, etc. and the finish holds up extremely well. the thing that does it for with ADV vs. HRE is that ADV1 is better with their concave designs - ADV1 has some subtle differences that in my opinion make them the better designer.....

Hey Guys, Thanks for the replies and PM.s. I have gotten quite a bit of helpful info in the last couple of days. It seems that the owners bad business practices from the past forge360 business have came full circle leading to the current situation of ADV1. It does not seem widely announced or known, but it has been made very clear MOMO has stepped in and taken over ADV1. I am told MOMO is currently taking over and restructuring, building, and improving the ADV1 brands business. It looks like the owner of ADV1 ran into similar financial and business practice problems that he also had with his previous company. Its to bad he could not have simply stepped behind the curtain, and have let a professional CEO capable of the job, take the reigns. Anyway, I cant say much because there is probably another side of the story as there was last time.

Good news is that MOMO is certainly qualified to take over. I m sure they will breath a new life of service and quality into the brand. It was said MOMO is working very hard to bring the ADV1 Brand up to their level of Quality and standards. If the company was in bad enough shape for the owner to have to walk away again as he did in forge360 , then I have to imagine there is a lot of work to be done for MOMO to get it to their standards. Some have told me they have been waiting 6 months for their orders to arrive. Something else that was mentioned was that where ADV1 once represented about 40% of orders from a large supplier, they now represent only 5%. That alone tells me there are some big changes currently happening with that brand. As much as I like those damn M1 wheels, I just cant be confident in the brands current position. I just don't think now is the time for me to try this brand out.

I will say this is just my personal feelings, I could be wrong or misinformed. This is just the route I am choosing based on the info received. I am in no way bashing ADV1 as I really like there wheels, I would like to see some wrinkles ironed out before diving into their brand. Its a big choice for me, because I am putting someone's name onto one of my pride exotics. To me, that's huge marketing and brand exposure for them. Its telling everyone that sees my ride that this is the brand I would recommend. If that's going to happen, I better damn well believe and stand behind the Company, Product and service. Maybe I think to much into it. I guess if they where a thousand bucks going onto a civic, I probably would not give two thoughts about it lol

I am extremely confident MOMO is going tot take this brand to a whole other level. I really cant wait to see where this is in a year or two. When that time comes, I am sure I will be willing to try a set then.

As for right now, what's going onto the 488????

Well, I was contacted and offered to tour the HRE facility in person. Turns out HRE is just 50 min from my place. I was already leaning towards HRE simply because there so track proven and have been around for so long. Made in AMERICA and right up the street from me. With an opportunity to go to the facility and see the process in person, that's pretty sweet. Best part is I will take the Scud, for a nice drive along the coast up towards San Diego. Once there, they said we can see the styles and colors next to the scud (Similar color as the 488 will be) and really decide which I like best. Even if I didn't like the color once installed, I could take them off and simply pay HRE to recolor them as I choose, I don't think it gets any better than that right. .

Now the big dilemma, what style and color do I go with. I really like the P101, but there seems to be quite a few of them around already. I just don't know if I can fall in love with the new P204 though. They have the twist in the spoke that makes it look a bit different. I will have to see them in person to really know what I think. The color I choose to go against the Grey Canne Di Fucile 488 will either be Brushed Titanium, Satin Charcoal, or Satin Bronze .

    Here is Satin Bronze P204's

Ferrari 458 Italia with HRE P204 in Satin Bronze | HRE Performance Wheels

The other option would be the P101 which I think look better the P204. Here is a set of P101 in Brushed Titanium on a Grigio Silverstone which is kind of close to the Fucile. Its a decent example of how it would look color wise on the 488

Grigio Silverstone Ferrari 458 with HRE P101 in Brushed Titanium | HRE Performance Wheels

Here is the final color option, Satin Charcoal, I'm just wandering if this will be too dark against the Fucile.

Ferrari 488 GTB with HRE S204 in Satin Charcoal | HRE Performance Wheels

So there it all is guys. Sorry for the longgggg post, there has just been so much to take in and digest in the past days. I feel I have learned quite a bit that I otherwise would have been oblivious to. Good news is I have narrowed it down to the brand I want to go with and I have narrowed it down to two styles and a few color choices. Are there any others like me that spend hours and hours just to decide on a freaking wheel to put on a car. I hope I am not alone hehehe

What do you all think. I am leaning towards Satin Bronze P101's. However the Titanium does seem to POP and show the wheel design more. Let me know your thoughts and which ones you all like. Ill get some pics and videos up when I get back from HRE. Until then, keep dodging those radar guns......

HRE has been around longer, but ADV1 has better designs - especially if you like pure concaves without waves...i have run them hard, have had two sets, and no issues....

Thought I would share some personal experience with you. Some time ago I bought a set of used 3 piece HRE's on eBay. When I installed them they were making some noises. I decided to send them to HRE for inspection. They reported that the wheels had some issues with roundness and the fasteners were not torqued correctly. I elected to have them brought up to factory spec. When the wheels arrived to me I installed them and they still made the same noises. I called HRE and voiced my concern. Here was their response, go on our website and pick out a set on mono bloc wheels and we will make them for you NO CHARGE. Yeah see if you can match that kind of customer service anywhere. I have since bought several sets from them over the years and they are always perfect with zero problems. HRE is the gold standard, the best.

When you ask if these will be track ready, do you really want to drive your car hard on tracks/time attack or do you want wheels which will look nice on your car and perform OK when driving at high speeds on streets?

If the former, I'd suggest that you skip the fancy 21/22" after market wheels, because they will be really bad on track in terms high cornering speed. The beefier the tire the better on track. Also on track you will easily damage those big wheels, and thin walled tires. Plus, riding comfort of these huge wheels are really terrible on streets.

If I were you I'd never go with bigger dia. wheels than the stock 20". Get some HRE 20" wheels for your car and you won't regret it. If you are really into tracking, I'd say try to get the 19" wheels with some TrofeoR tires.

over the years, I have purchased about 8-12 sets of ADV wheels - all of them from wheels boutique out of Miami. When I went to order my latest set a month or so ago - WB said they had been having delivery issues w/ ADV and suggested I try HRE. so I ordered a set of HRE and they are awesome.

I probably wont be an ADV customer any more, which is a bit sad, the product has always been good. So here is another recommendation for HRE .

I wouldn't have ADV1. They look great but on a performance car? I've seen their attempt at ''lightweight'' wheels, botched job doesn't quite cover it. It looked dangerous to me, frankly. Now that Momo has taken over the company I'd give it time to see what will happen. Jordan from ADV1 is very shady and I wouldn't trust him. He makes the websites and wheels look great but quality is extremely poor for the money they want.

For the same money you can have HRE wheels, whose quality have been proven time and time again. It's a no brainer, really.

As I have mentioned on my previous post. The HRE's build quality is absolutely amazing. The QC Process and the engineering of all their wheels is above anything else in the industry when it comes to custom forged wheels. We have worked with them over the past few months (as they are literally located and manufactured across the street) to develop new finishes, new styles, to help stay ahead of the curve.

Being located across the street has its perks and having the inside look of the operation, it amazes me every other day when we go pickup sets for our clients.

We are always here to help if anyone has any questions about wheels/sizes or options for their cars. Please feel free to reach out!
