There's a new sponsor on the Forum, AC lifts and they offer what looks like a great solution - a SINGLE post lift.
Does anyone have any experience with this sort of lift.
I did a search and found huge amounts of info on 4 post lifts, some on two post lifts, but nothing on single post lifts.

Their website has a picture and the concept is great. No posts to get in the way of other cars parked under the lift and generally a feeling of spaciousness (from the picture anyway)

    Dear Sir:

The single post lift is our most popular design by inquiry, although it's not the design we sell the most of only because of cost. The M1-4.5 sells for $3,995, and the 6.5 model sells for $4,445. If you'd like additional information, please send me an email or call me toll free at 888-711-5438. I can also provide you with many references who own a single post lift.

    Best to you.

In function, it's really very similar to a 4 post lift because it has ramps that you drive the car onto and the car sits on the wheels when lifted. So think of it as a 4 post lift in terms of what you can do to the car while lifted, but takes up less space than a conventional 4 post lift. Seems like an outstanding storage lift.
