A Special Message and Request from Cars and Cappuccino - Charlotte

In an effort to make sure everyone is alerted to the pending changes of the Cars and Cappuccino monthly events, we wanted to create a separate thread. (Thank you to those who already responded to the post in the usual Cars and Cappuccino thread).

In an effort to be able to continue the monthly Cars and Cappuccino events in Charlotte, the gathering needs to go in a smaller, more private direction. Several of us have been working fairly diligently to secure and gathering space that is in a good location and conducive to the friendly and mature environment Cars and Cappuccino is known for.

We believe we have secured a very desirable new location and are now moving to the next step. The new location will have outdoor seating, breakfast service and access to facilities. However, the current legal environment for these types of events along with the physical limitations of the meeting area will requires us to limit the size of Cars and Cappuccino gatherings - roughly 65.

Car gatherings used to be fairly easy and fun to start up and manage. That is no longer the case. Even the most mild-mannered gathering requires event insurance and a police presence. Those requirements require a level of funding that - to date - have been covered largely by the founders of Cars and Cappuccino and recently, to some degree by our sponsors.

Going forward, we will be asking for a level of support from what will now be Cars Cappuccino MEMBERS, not just attendees. And yes, membership will have its privileges. ; ). We have been in talks with our current sponsor - Dynamic Auto Tune - in an effort to keep the monthly dues amount as small as possible for members. Those talks are continuing, but we are very comfortable saying that monthly membership dues will be in the single digits.
