The engine sits quite heavy on the front axle. Therefor the car is an strong understeerer. But take some Ferraris from the late 50ies - they also handle like trucks! Ciao! Walter

Very good 1st series car come for 55-70k Euros! An "interim"-version, perhaps with rare 5-speed comes for about 85k Euros! Very good cars are hard to find and owner mostly keep them for a long period. Ciao! Walter

This is #101.728. The car was delivered new to Sheik Al-Thani in Geneva/CH. Stored with only 328 km on the clock until 2002. I've had two 3500's and for their vintage they drive pretty nicely. Maybe a bit of understeer initially, but easy to get the tail out with the power on and it makes a very nice spirited touring car. Some parts nearly impossible to obtain, if you buy one make sure it's all there. Scott

Year : 1963 Body color : Grigio Albany Max Meyer 16249 - Interior : Pelle Connolly nera Pac 1560 Engine No: 101-2574 - Touring body No: 12725 LHD , ZF 5 shift gear , 4 disk brakes , Lucas injection. The car was delivered on 17 February 1963 in Napoli to Mr.Chiacchio through the local Maserati sub-dealer Giardiello. Then was imported in USA (New Jersey perhaps), but the second owner (unknown) was involved in some sort of illegal activity and the car remained parked in a gas station for a long time, under sequestration. The third owner was Mr.W.Opdyke ( NJ ) , an elderly enthusiast, who drove the car in few occasions until 1979. Then he sold the car to Mr. R. Roy (NJ), an important car collector who owned the car until 2004 never starting or driving it . In 2004 Dragone Classics of Bridgeport (CT) purchased the car and after an year sold it in the Netherlands . In 2005 at last it became mine with only 14.000 miles shown by the odo meter . This car was found in quite good condition , but the mechanical section needed some light repairs. The body paint was old and partially faded , so has been repainted in his original colour and the interior fully refurbished . Works completed in april 2006.
Wow that original car is magnificent. Are extremely well kept original cars going to be more collectable in the future than restored cars?
I just found these pictures in my old shoe box collection. I took these in June 1972, near Tacoma, Washington, USA. I was interested in this car because I had just purchased a Lancia Flaminia, also with a body by Touring. I was not able to find out who owned the Maserati. It has California license plate number XOD585. It appears to have an "Inezione" badge on the trunk lid. There is fresh primer on part of the car. Parked next to it is a Chevrolet Corvair convertible.
