A Rare 328 GTB TURBO

It is one of 308 ( production number, not model ) Turbo GTB sold on italian market.

@Albert-LP could tell us more about those car.

 

Just sent the book about the turbo cars to the print shop, this afternoon. Tomorrow I will start to translate it in English.

Just 308 units of that "GTB turbo" were made: Two liters, V8, 254 hp.

Yeah, this is the intercooler upgrade to the 208 turbo. Not a 328 factory turbo. Great car though.

Here's the factory issued brochure, 443/86.

Most Ferrari factory brochures of this era had text and specs in 3 or 4 languages. These brochures were only printed in Italian.

Yes! I think I spotted a 288 GTO!

 

It's proper name is GTB turbo or GTS turbo.

Here's the production stats I have:

1986-89 GTB Turbo - 308
1986-89 GTS Turbo - 828

It's predecessor was the 208 Turbo

1982-85 208 Turbo GTB - 437
1983-85 208 Turbo GTS - 250

 

Glickenhaus has one of these too.

 

I wonder if they stopped building that model after number 308 on purpose

 

I'm thinking there are three of these in the US. Jim's, this one, and one that came up for auction some time over the last several months or so.

Interesting collection of cars. Dino 2400, is that a smurf blue testarossa?, a black thing with an F50 wing, GTO, Turbo GTB.

The black winged thing looks like a Vern Schuppan Porsche 962CR.

These are indeed the published figures. Note that the two variants, that is "208 Turbo" and then the later "Turbo" (Intercooler) used the two valve engine, turbocharged. Neither used the four valve engine.

Right. Because these were never "officially" imported to the USA, it's a surprise to some that they even existed.

Because of the NACA duct on the rocker panel, please observe where the Pininfarina badge is!

 

We have a few in France; not "that many", but "a few", which where bought second-hand in Italy and imported here. There is even one in Poland nowadays...
