and never seen . Is the seller a F chat member? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/84-Lamborghini-countach-5000s-original-paint-low-miles-/130428749886?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item1e5e28c83e Edited added info--- AH!! that is the old ElecMoHwk car back in 2001!!! I thought this one was in CA. This car was owned by ElecMoHwk, USA. Check out his web site for this car at http://www.project112.com/ the site no longer leads to anything
does this have a factory wing? just wondering because most wings i see are straight across but this one has the ends point down..
Last time Russell logged in under the screen name Mr.Anthony337 was back in Feb 2009. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/member.php?u=57569 I am sure he would like to know that his old Countach is for sale. I will send him the link. Vic
The ad says that the car was originally ordered "wing delete." I'd say it needs to be re-deleted. That thing is hideous.
The car is between Patrick and myself, actually a few minutes away. If anyone needs our help or storage, I would be happy to help. I also have a trailer if needed.
Well, yes. The story is dating. The car was bought by Russell about 10 years ago. Russell did not have a wing on it. See the pictures he posted way back then. I guess he got kind of a raw deal from a shop in the DC area (dont remember the name) but he got a good price too. He had engine issues (blowing the oil lines on the DC highway) and when the Internet market came crashing (he was an IT guy) he sold the CT to a guy in CA and found a new love for the new VW beettle and went in business for himself. He was quite active on a Yahoo lambo site no longer in existence and that all I recall from his posts. He always stated that he wanted to buy the car back when for sale in the future. So contacting him may be appropriate. So if the new owner has sorted the engine then the car should be ok. Anyway i live 10mn from the town so if anyone is serious about it, Peter K and I can help. (week end only). I'll be interested to know if anyone knows the car or the owner who bought it from him because that car just "disappeared" after he sold it. What I found out so far is the car does not have (1) EPA and DOT release letters or paperwork and (2) owners manual. I will call Glenn and find out more tomorrow.
Being a 25+ year old, nobody ask for that anymore. Mine never left their pouch. I guess a call to DOT (D. Merrit / Kathy Rice are the contacts from what I knew) would clear this up too. For sure the owner should make sure he covers this but the car has been around in the US for quite some time and the seller indicates he has got import traceability. Purchase price must discount a complete leather Job it seems. This car could be a good deal in this economy.
Talked with Glenn, a friend of the owner this morning. The current owner has the car for 12 years. Mech of the car is in top condition. Paint and leather seats will need detail work, perhaps minor repairs. No accidents, all original except cut-off switch and wing. It has air pump connected, not cat or DOT work done. Tires are one year old. Clutch was replaced about 11 years ago with about 3000 miles on it. It is a driver, not a show car at this time. He will add a few more pics of the rear end this evening. I am interested to bid but 1500 miles away. Is there a chance one of you can take a closer look of the car (especially under the car) and share your findings by Friday night or Saturday? The bid will end on Sunday. Glenn's cell number is (203) 623-8040. Many thanks.
By the way, Glenn is the seller for the car on eBay, do not know the name of the current owner - a car collector for sure.
Ok. I'll see what I can do. I sent a mail to the guy. I'll try to reach Peter or he will reach me. I have a lift so if the guy is willing or can drive 10mn it would make it easy to check under
Great! Give Glenn a call first so you can set up a time. I informed him that I will ask you or Peter to check the car out. He said sure, no problem. Let me know what you find out...
I emailed Glenn and let him know that one of you will call him and set up a visit and put the car on your lift to look the underside, if it is ok with him. Tom
Not to split hairs however I believe Russell (ElecMoHwk) still owned the car back in 2002 maybe even 2003, unless this is another car the years just do not add up. Vic
