Hello, I just replaced the compressor on my 97 F355 and recharged the system. Everything is working great, however, I discovered a leak on one of the AC compressor lines. Image Unavailable, Please Login Looking on Eurospares, it doesn’t show an o-ring on any of the connections, however, if I look up photos on eBay, you can see that there’s a green o-ring there - at least it looks like there's one in the eBay photo. Definitely has an oring in there, you can see the green oring there in that pic of the hose end as you mentioned. I don't know where you live, but if you are capable of doing this job from start to finish yourself (with the right aircon specialist tools) then swing past your nearest automotive/auto electrical shop and purchase an aircon oring kit. IF you can't get this done, take the car to your nearest aircon specialist and they will replace the leaking oring for you. The nut might even be slightly loose and may just need a little nip up. I've got aircon oring kits here coming out my ass lol. You need something like this if you can do it yourself......... All good legend! Once I saw that you changed the compressor I thought it may have been a little loose. But, it's always a good idea to replace the Orings every time. So be sure to do them if there ever is a next time. Take care and have a great weekend mate.
Mine had to be super tight so I removed, new o rings, and some anti seize seemed to solve it for 5 years so far
Thanks for the help guys. At the time, I inspected them and they looked fine. In hindsight, I should have replaced them. I tightened up that one connection and so far so good Still strange it doesn't show the o-rings in the parts diagram.
General rule, o-rings that have been in place for some time are never reused. Ever. Regardless of how they look they are consumable. https://www.mcmaster.com/
