I am a fine arts painter, contemplating doing a front 3/4 view of a 330LMB to go with my completed rear 3/4.
Bu there's so little in print on the model, which is much much rarer than 250GTO. I found an article in Motor Trend from 2014 that says one is going up for sale at a Rick Cole auction but under something called a "Private Treaty" sale, which I gather is a private sale within a public sale. MT were not Ferrari experts but they hinted at a racing background when they said "The broker overlooking the private treaty sale doesn't mention any significant motorsport history, but does confirm the car has enjoyed lengthy bouts in historical motorsport events with famous drivers behind the wheel, including Derek Bell and Tom Kristensen."

To me a vintage racing background isn't quite as illustrious as a real race where drivers are going pedal to the metal not babying their car. And I asked myself "is it a factory race car if it never raced by the factory?

Larry Edsall in Journal of Classic Cars lists the car destined for the auction as 4381.

An article in Supercar Nostalgia lists these as the SN of the 330LMBs.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The test mule (chassis 4619 SA) was retained for development use and never raced. It was the only 330 LMB equipped with a four instead of five-speed gearbox.
    s
Chassis 4381 SA was retained for use by Scuderia Ferrari.

Chassis 4453 SA was supplied to Ferrari’s US importer, Luigi Chinetti, for his North American Racing Team (NART).

Chassis 4725 SA was supplied to Ferrari’s UK distributor, Colonel Ronnie Hoare, who ran Maranello Concessionaires.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
But then to contradict that listing , that SN listed in barchetacc.com lists some real races:
    4381SA 63 *** 1 of 4 ***
Ferrari 330 LM B Le Mans Berlinetta, LHD

    Chassis tipo 574

Then they say it was rebodied in 1964 as a " Spyder by Carrozzeria Fantuzzi, Modena, " They also say it was rebodied back into a 330LMB and they list its appearance in the Rick Cole auction as taking place in 2016

OK I get it, the car's been through one helluva lot. But what did Rick Cole sell it for an what are they worth today?

There should be a definitive book written about these cars.
