I can't disagree with the first comment. That's what I was really try to explain is that his position in the standings is not a real reflection of his overall skill. Gasly has impressed me as well lately so I would add him to that list. On the second part I would agree with possible but disagree with likely. Either way GR made us of it now let's see his race craft. He manages to push a Williams further ahead at time and now he has a car beneath him.
I think Hamilton on Race day is actually overshadowed by the car. I think his feel for piloting is far better than many here believe. His tire management is phenomenal and you can see that he thinks the race through and knows when to pick his spots. Experience matters in all of that. Remember that he has more McLaren wins than all of those guys combined and they came in his first 5 seasons. He’s a much better driver now. The young guns will get there...but you pay your dues to be great. I only see Leclerc and Verstappen as being able to go toe-to-toe with LH right now, but he makes less errors than they do (Leclerc is pushing a bad car, so that’s excusable, while Max has red mist moments of over-aggression)
The race isn’t finished but here is what I learnt and confirmed to myself: 1-The Mercedes is one of the most dominant car of all time 2-Bottas can never be and will never be World Champion 3-Hamilton has proven he can beat other WC (button , rosberg, Alonso(tied), but also button, rosberg beat him as we said numerous times 4-Russell, Verstappen, Ricciardo, Leclerc, Sainz, Norris, Perez maybe even Vettel could be World champion with this Mercedes 5-This russel domination doesn’t mean Hamilton wouldn’t be WC but with a proper teammate in doubt he wins 5 in a row. Whatever...the pit stop strategy totally screwed both drivers. Toto said it was a complete F***-up on national TV.
We are but I think it’s silly of you to refuse to acknowledge the obvious Russell clearly proved he can win a WC in this car Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hopefully F1 does the right thing: -Fire Albion-replace him with Perez -Fire bottas and replace him with Russell That move where bottas goes back on track with the same tire was shameful Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Don't hold your breath for Mercedes to replace Bottas with Russell. They already have a WDC caliber driver with Lewis. Also Lewis is proven over a year. You don't know exactly what your gonna get from Russell over a year. I think Russell may hold up under pressure, but its the unknown.
Just a thought - while Lewis has been lucky to be in the best car allowing him to secure 7 championships, it seems Bottas has been even luckier to be in a car allowing him to secure numerous 2nd places
I won’t . I just want a challenge. With a proper teammate I don’t think Lewis wins 5 straight . Nothing wrong against him. But he is 3-1 ba rosberg so I do think he gets the edge. As far as bottas- he is useless as #1 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
