Whats the going price one should hope to aim for? Looking for a superfast with no more than 5,000 miles. Not sure if the prices have dipped yet or more to go. I keep getting price drop alerts weekly.

I don't know where you are located, but here in Europe the 812SF prices raise since end of 2021.

Sounds like you answered your own question...

Find a car you like and put in an offer you are comfortable with...

Well I dont know the front engine v12 market that well. I dont know historically what they go for vs now. I cant swallow taking a $100,000 loss even if I get one today $70,000 below msrp. Do they usually trade around 10-12% below msrp range or do they drop further? Not that I cant afford that drop, but I prefer to avoid it if I can. I could get a Z06 with the leftover cash - more toys to go around.

Not sure you can get a superfast with less than 5000 miles below msrp, Depending on the spec it would be would be $50-75,000 over msrp these days

So before Covid the V12's would generally lose almost half of their original MSRP price once they bottomed out. Covid changed all that and like everything else they started to go up in value, then factoring in ,that it is widely believed that the days of Ferrari building V12's is numbered and it becomes somewhat difficult to predict where they will end up. I know this doesn't give you a definitive answer but at least provides some history and current thinking.

I am looking at a number 812s in cars.com that are below msrp. I’d say $50,000 is easy and doesnt even require “offer” to be made, its asking price. Maybe I am looking at the wrong cars?

I am no expert on 812 pricing, but I have noticed the supple of cars listed for sale has picked up in recent months. Ferrari is expected to announce the successor to the 812 sometime in the next year or sooner and perhaps many of those owners are looking to trade up to the new car, so maybe your timing is good, more supple than demand not sure. There are certainly some others on this forum who would be better informed on the price trends of the 812 than me.

If conventional logic applies, unveiling of the F167 will reduce current 812 pricing. However, you’ll also get a lower price when you go to unload it. The caveat to this is if the F167 is a V12 hybrid. In that case, if the 812 is deemed the last V12 GT car, then pricing and values will likely hold or go up. The other potential factor is that some won’t be fans of the newer tech in the F167, which could keep prices and values up, if the 812 is truly the last analog V12 GT car from Maranello.

Along the same lines as the 812 values, you should consider what will happen to Z06 values when the ZR1 is launched soon. You also have the E-Ray competing for some Z buyers…and then the rumored Zora.

If you are cross-shopping a Z06 and can't stomach a big drop on a Ferrari then go get the Chevy. The 812sf is not the last NA V12. Lots of models came after it and some coming soon including the SUV. Continuing the OEM warranty is (was) $24k for 2 years and then its $7k/year for the 12 cylinder with the annual and that's if you have zero reliability issues. If this car doesn't literally keep you up at night wanting it then my advice is to look elsewhere. Best.

It’s also been said in the forums that the 812 replacement (F167) will have quite a higher base MSRP than the 812. Which obviously might help 812 values.

Indeed, my dealer told me this would be the highest price increase between 2 consecutive non limited V12 models.

I read somewhere this F167 could have a starting price of 600K EURO....that makes the 812SF a bargain and therefore maintain its value for quite sometime.

Mhh... a car with not much more horsepower than the predecessor, still natural aspirated but maybe a little bit hybrid assist and twice the base price?

Will be interesting to see - certainly helps 812 SF used prices.

I'm enjoying the higher mileage life. Price drops aren't so bad then. Why are you fixated on this low mileage thing? Less driven cars tend to have more issues. 39k miles on my 2017 F12 rock solid. I could also care less about the miles either it lessens the enjoyment of driving.

My thoughts as well. 5000 miles is so little on a GT car that mainly see highway driving. If you dont plan on driving the car much, then the depreciation from the added miles wont be much. That is whatever the initial mileage is. So if you get a cheaper car with 40k miles, indeed, you will sell it cheaper at the end, but you also bought it cheaper. And if you drive a lot, you might as well buy a higher mileage car, as long as it has been well maintained. So in short, unless you indeed to bubblewrap the car in your garage because it's some sort of ultra rare jewel, I dont see the point in fixating on a low mileage number. Usage and maintenance are much more important to make sure you get a good car.

That's the damage payment for owning a Ferrari and not driving it.

Exactly. I tuned mine, cat delete, drag raced it (see DragTimes against McLaren Artura if bored on youtube), taken it date night, taken it to fast food drive thru, done errands, done back road driving, all while racking up the mileage. Just a normal guy enjoying the V12 life. Not some mega rich elite with 15 cars. Don't see the point in buying and not driving because OMG the mileage. If you're that worried then don't buy the car.

You'll sell it at a higher price, but you also bought it at a higher price... Bar some special models, you will probably still lose some money on it, and that will probably be at quite a high $/mile rate.

It puzzles me time and time again seeing this on the Ferrari forums, (Lamborghini as well really), when I bought my first Ferrari, a 458 Italia, I bought one with 42000km's (26000 miles) it was for sale for quite some time as it was seen at that time being a high mileage car, now that same car is for sale with 88000km's (54000 miles ) and is priced 15000 EUR higher than what I paid for it.

A similar car with 42000km's is about 25-30000 more, so really what is high mileage ??, I reckon a newly delivered Ferrari with 10000miles is high mileage, but if it's 4 years old it's considered low mileage...

Yeah I don't get it. You buy with low mileage you'll take a beating when you drive it. I'm not disclosing my purchase price on here since posts aren't editable but feel free to PM me what was fair market for mine at lesser mileage versus what I paid and it was a nice discount for a nicely spec'ed F12 (400k sticker). Sure, I'll get less in the end but I also paid less too. You buy low mileage and pay high you will sell for lower because you'll rack up the mileage or be petrified to drive it. I don't want to jinx it but I've had mine since Sept of 2022 (33,400 miles) and now in late June of 2023 it's got just a tick under 39,000 miles and she's been pretty reliable. I have 3 cars so I don't drive it every day but I do look for any excuse to take it out and it gets moved several times a week even if for a few miles. Like the human body if you sit and don't stretch and work out it dries up and then when you go to push her things can break.
