I am in exact same situation with Ferrari Las Vegas, June 2021 deposit made, order received by factory, told 18 months but almost certainly going to be 24 months +. My car which showed “waiting list” on the app disappeared for a few days and reappeared. Dealer says it means nothing. My guess is it will show up again. Let’s hope we get our cars sooner than expected!
I just checked My Ferrari. Still says on waiting list but has a vin and pictures in production and a spec that is nothing close to mine. Funny! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Like many of you, I have my deposit etc on an 812 GTS which was put down in June of 21. Was told 18 to 24 months until arrival. My dealer in the US has 50 deposits all made before Ferrari closed the order book. Ferrari has stated in press releases the order book is the largest it has ever been. How many years do you think it will take Ferrari to really build all these orders? The last time I was at the factory it took one person one week to build a V12 engine. Just to fill my dealers orders that takes one man year just for the engines. Just my guess, it will take at least 3 years to fill all the 812 GTS orders around the world ie end of 2024.
According to the Ferrari annual report (waiting for 2021's to arrive soon), about 2,200 V12s are made per year, given that the 812c/812cA/SP3 all use V12s and the upcoming FUV as well, could last into 2025, but I think Ferrari will finish the 812GTS by early 2024, at least for Europe given different regulations and derogations occurring, so USA 812GTS could see final delivery in 2025, wow, that's really an amazing end of the pre-hybrid regular series V12 car (not including the FUV which should initially be non-hybrid)!
I have a late allocation, but did TM. I was told the good news is it starts going right into production with TM, but still takes 12-18 months.
I posted this in another thread but I spoke with my salesman yesterday to see if my car had arrived in NJ yet. He told me that he doesn't see how Ferrari will make all of the 812 GTS orders that they've accepted. He thinks they will cancel a bunch of them just like they canceled F8 orders. I'd be mightily POd if my order was accepted by the factory only to be canceled later--especially with a car that's going for ~$200k over sticker.
It sounds like you don't want the car just the overs in which case why shouldn't Ferrari cancel you ?
Wow. Jump to idiotic conclusions much? It sounds like you're a bitter SOB who didn't get an allocation and is mad at the world. See? Two can play the game.
I think accepted is the magic word. Did the dealer take a deposit or did Ferrari accept it. So many are just dealer deposits. Hadn’t heard about the f8 since didn’t have one on order and haven’t payed close attention. Bunch of deposits returned globally? I will check f8 forum and don’t mean to get us off topic but more or what may portend to come
He specifically said factory accepted orders like happened to the F8. So, there was a dealer deposit, a client specced car, Ferrari factory acceptance of the spec and then a cancellation. I'd be interested in any info from the F8 forum.
Presumably you were checking to see if it was in NJ because you already had confirmation of the car having been built and shipped. In which case your salesman's response makes no sense at all.
Ferrari recently cancelled a bunch of orders that did not have a customer deposit. These were accepted orders but Ferrari deemed them to be suspicious. Have not heard of cancelations of orders with a deposit.
That’s an interesting one…I haven’t heard of a US dealer that hasn’t required a deposit. I am reasonably good customer w my dealer and I still do deposits. Seems odd
I was 10G about 2 weeks ago and they let me modify some things. Initially I was told spring 2022 and now they are saying closer to summer as shipping may take as long as 2 to 3 months.
I'm going 10R in the next couple weeks and I'd be shocked if I got mine by summer. That's quite good news!
IIRC once it gets to 10R the build process then goes pretty quickly. The longest delay will be shipping, especially these days.
I hear different things High proportion GTS are tailor made. Got my vin so 10R but presumed TM delay will be a 2022 late completion but vin is a 2022. Sold my F8 too soon and the. The spider was delayed. Don’t want to sell my 812 too soon. What about y’all? How long - some say 12-18 months some say less.
You have a chassis number, no VIN, the VIN is assigned by FNA once the car arrives in the USA...anything labeled as a VIN prior to then is predictive but not guaranteed because the model year can change and that can potentially alter the check digit in the VIN as well if any other portion other than the chassis number changes...For instance if your car arrives at FNA next year it will definitely not be a MY2022 vehicle. Tailor Made includes a wide variety of customizations, some can delay a car more than 12 months...the more unique/unusual typically the more delay. Your best way to estimate build timelines is to contact your TM representative at the factory. The factory probably sought out the highest configurations to allow an allocation to prioritize what will be built so makes sense a large number of GTS are TM...
Seems odd? You've bought what 2-3 Ferraris (including a California) and have a fake Ferrari on order? Now you're the expert? Hahaha. OK man.
