Maybe the ride height was increased on the USA models to avoid the curbs and speed bumps from damaging the front valence.

Beautiful car! A few years ago a glass 308 sold for more than $350k. I guess $250k is now the correct price for the best glass 308s. A market correction I suppose. Your thoughts?????

The car (#19377) was purchased by one of the most savvy Ferrari collectors of the past few decades. I guess he knew a deal when he saw it...

The shockers don't vary the ride height. The springs do.

Pretty sure the US had bumper height restrictions even back then.

Gorgeous car. The new owner must be very proud.

I purchased a new set from T Rutlands. I specified them to be for early Euro glass car. When they arrived they were in the red color the Koni Classic items are manufactured. I simply painted the new shocks the period Koni color and applied the period Koni decals.

Did you reinstall the springs that came with the car on the new Koni's?

Great thread, very informative. Going all the way back to when you found the the original paint colour, I suspect mine, currently red, was Chiaro Blu Metalizatto. Any idea how I can find out, as I cant tell from the car!

The original color presented itself when the car was disassembled. I imagine that on most in period "resale red" paint jobs the people painting the cars didn't remove every trace of original color. Once glass is removed, carpets and dashboard are pulled I imagine more than a few "red" cars will reveal traces of original color overspray from the original factory applied paint job.

Fantastic car. Would you mind if I repost the dealer decal in the dealer decal/sticker thread I started?

    Thanks.

Door interiors, floor pan fiberglass under carpet..these are areas the original color will show, also scraping the flat black around the gas cap, or a frame rail in the engine compartment.

If there's a piece of tape, beside the coils, pull that off, it hides the Build Number usually
