Went to the grocery store last night and saw this in a special cabinet with all of their expensive items. What makes this any different from regular JW Blue? Struck me as being a little odd to see a $3,000 bottle of anything at a grocery store :)

LOL, that is why it caught me off guard so much. It is a nice grocery store, but they somehow have Macallan 25, oversize JW Blue, and multiple $300+ wines/champagnes.....right next to the diet Mr. Pibb :)

Hmm, here is a snippet from that link:
"This cask strength Johnnie Walker Blue Label commemorates the 200th birthday of the man himself, and comes packaged in a contemporary baccarat decanter."

I don't believe regular JW Blue is cask strength. That has got to be it, right? Here is what I pulled from wikipedia:
"Blue Label 200th Anniversary – 2005 saw Johnnie Walker's extremely limited bottling of its ultimate blend. A special release of cask strength Blue Label, in a special square Baccarat crystal decanter. It is the most expensive Johnnie Walker product, selling recently for over $3,599 a bottle."

The decanter is a drawback IMO. It appears to have the label on it and it doesn't have a neck. Think about trying to pour out of that bottle--a pain in the ass.
